Why is Cloudflare randomly blocking my IP address?
I'm running a server off my router with Debian, and I have the Cloudflare 1.
1/30 rule.
However, about every other day, my IP address is blocked. For example, I'll be working on a website, and it will load fine, and when I hit refresh, it will take 2-3 seconds to load, and then the server will report a 503 Service Unavailable error. I've tried changing my DNS settings to the ones provided by Cloudflare, and I have even tried removing the rule. What could be causing this?
This is an incredibly common problem, and has been around since the very earliest days of the internet. The solution is simple: if you're using Cloudflare, you can always use Google's public DNS servers (8.8 and 8.4).
There are many benefits to using a third-party DNS service, as opposed to your local ISP's DNS servers. It's more stable, and there's less chance of any DNS server going down. It's much faster. It can (and should) be configured as a "round-robin" DNS server. You don't need to trust the DNS servers operated by your local ISP. The downside is that there's no built-in caching of DNS records, which can be a problem for sites which use a lot of dynamic data (such as web pages) which change frequently. It also means that you can't use any other third-party DNS services (which may include your ISP's DNS servers).
In short, you can't really do without Cloudflare unless you're willing to lose the benefits of having a third-party DNS server.
Why is Cloudflare blocking me from websites?
One of the things that makes our business so great is that we have an absolutely awesome community.
In turn, our users tend to be super active on the forums, especially if they're having problems with their Cloudflare account. As such, I wanted to take a moment to go over some common questions that come up around Cloudflare and how we might be able to help you with your problem.
What are the different types of accounts? For the most part, there are two types of Cloudflare accounts: standard and custom. Standard accounts are pretty self-explanatory. If you're not using a custom DNS record, then you're using a standard account. You can have as many standard accounts as you want. We have some limits on custom accounts, but those limits are not enforced by us and may vary by region.
When you sign up for a Cloudflare account, you're choosing between a standard or a custom account. If you choose a standard account, you can keep your DNS records the same, but we will only manage the content on your behalf. If you choose a custom account, you can keep your DNS records the same, and we'll actually manage the content on your behalf, but you need to make sure that all of your content is hosted by Cloudflare (or any other service you wish to use).
I have a DNS record that I need to use with Cloudflare. Can you help me set it up? As of this writing, we have the following restrictions in place for the record you're trying to use: This may be temporarily lifted if you qualify for the Cloudflare Pro service. Please send email to support@cloudflare.com if you are interested in becoming a Cloudflare Pro customer.
If your DNS record is not setup properly, then you won't be able to use the Cloudflare CDN. We cannot modify any of your DNS records. We can however, modify the content that is being served from your site. So if you are having issues with content on your site, then this may be the reason.
What is Cloudflare DNS record? Cloudflare DNS records are like subdomains. For example, if you were to make your own subdomain at my-website.

How do I remove Cloudflare blocks?
How do I get rid of Cloudflare from blocking websites?
Recently I realized that Cloudflare is keeping several websites off my server from loading.
It says: "404 (not found)"? However, on the "Not working" website it's says "403 Forbidden".
I've tried searching through the internet and I can't find a way to delete this domain and the DNS records and IP address. I have also reset the DNS but it doesn't change anything.
Checked the logs on your server you should get a 404 error in your Apache server access logs. You need to use one of our services to resolve it as your question contains no details of where your web site is hosted, or how it was set up in the first place. Cloudflare support is not available by direct email on our main email server. You need to contact support@cloudflare.
