I like to listen to songs from Spotify, but i'm worried about bandwidth usage.

I've seen these numbers of what other people are using at a certain hour: 10GB, 30GB etc. How do I use Spotify to my advantage? Are there any free proxies I can use (they don't have to be secure).

I have a laptop that uses the router I have, and a desktop that uses a USB wifi adapter. Both share an Internet connection with a good DSL service (my parents don't like their provider at all so I take over their phone line if needed). The problem is when I want to download songs from my laptop for example (not that it is too huge an amount but it has nothing urgent in it). After an hour or two, it gets throttled back to 50Mbps and I can't stream anything for that amount of time (i even tried streaming music instead but the connection speed would go down for no reason - something about this proxy thing I guess? It seems the bandwidth limit is not per torrent or any torrent client as far as I can tell but this happens even with music and non-downloading ones like my web browser/email client.

Thanks! So does that mean I could get a second router? I'm not sure that my parents would allow me to use their connections so much so I'm guessing I need a secure option.
