How do I get my messages to show up on my lock screen on my Samsung Galaxy?
I've followed the instructions given in the article How to Setup Messages and Notifications on Android Phone and it's working great.
In my case, all notifications show up in my lock screen just fine.
However, I still can't figure out how to view my messages from my smartphone or tablet. When I get a new message, the name of the sender is automatically underlined in blue. I want to be able to tap on this to see the rest of the message but I can't.
I don't see any reason why this should not work - is there something different about Samsung devices that makes this functionality more difficult? Also, why would Google want to hide their most popular feature from people? Seems pretty ridiculous to me. Thanks for any help you can provide. This is the most frustrating feature about Android.
I'm using the Galaxy S4 on Sprint with the Sprint Messaging app. Everything works except viewing the message on the lock screen. I have even tried using both a desktop and a mobile device (Nexus 6) to see if I could get it to work on both. The problem only exists on the Samsung.
Edit: As an addendum, the message notifications that you get are great when they actually work! That's why I've had to change my title. Notifications are great, I just wish they worked better.
I am using Sprint through Verizon with a Motorola Moto E (Android 4.1). I am on ATT and I don't get any of these issues. Maybe you aren't on AT&T and/or your provider is being silly?
I was also using that on my S4. That worked fine until I switched to Sprint on my S6 and now I am having this same issue. Sprint has some serious issues with SMS messaging. I really like your suggestion to use an AT&T sim so I will try that instead of switching to Verizon.
You have to use an AT&T sim. Sprint and Verizon don't provide their users with the same text messaging service.
You can use a non-Sprint/non-Verizon sim to use their text messaging service and the AT&T sim to use your iPhone. It isn't perfect, but it works. Some carriers are just lazy in terms of text messaging service, IMHO. It's one of those things that I wish wasn't the case.
How to show notifications on lock screen Samsung S22?
I'm getting bored of unlocking my phone every time to check for messages, emails, news, etc.
Would like to be able to get the notifications without having to unlock the phone all the time. Any ideas on how to do this? The option you're looking for is called "Display Notification". The setting is located at Settings > Notifications > Notification Access > "Display notification" Note that this does not enable the notifications from apps when your phone is locked, but only displays the notification on the home screen when the phone is unlocked. If you are just asking about hiding/preventing user access to notifications for specific apps, I recommend disabling notifications for the apps via Settings > Apps and Apps Storage, then re-enabling them as needed.
How do I make my lock screen notifications visible?
My lock screen notifications aren't showing up on my desktop.
They are showing up on the lock screen but not on the desktop. I have a MacBook Pro. ?
Your problem is that your notifications are coming from the lock screen, and the desktop has no lock screen. For example, if you have iMessage notifications, it will not appear on your lock screen, because you do not have a lock screen. If you want to make sure that they show up on the lock screen, you can go to System Preferences > General > Show icon previews.
