Can all smart TVs access Netflix?
Netflix wants to make sure that people who are on a limited data plan or have a data cap for their devices can still enjoy the company's vast library of TV shows and movies, but it's not all that easy.
There are some issues with how Netflix is trying to connect to TVs and other set-top boxes.
I tried to watch a movie on Netflix on an LG set-top box, and the device could only access the internet to stream from Netflix on its own terms it wouldn't stream the movie from my network (where I could just use any browser on any device). When I enabled the offline mode on my network-connected router, the device connected, but then didn't work at all. This may have been due to the fact that I had the wrong DNS address or incorrect port, so I spent about five hours trying to troubleshoot that. The solution was to enable smart TV on my router, which I did, but then the smart TV would not accept the connection. This is likely because Netflix was requiring a smart TV device.
And, of course, while the LG set-top box couldn't connect to my network, it also couldn't connect to my TV which is where I wanted it to be. So went with a Roku box instead of the LG set-top box. But even that didn't work.
Roku says that I need to buy its device in order to get a Netflix connection. Netflix says that I need to buy its device in order to get a Netflix connection. Both companies say that they're working on getting together on a fix. I found a third company called OpenTV that has a program where you can set up your router to act as an OpenTV gateway. I haven't tried this yet, but it looks like a good alternative for what we're doing.
Netflix's problem isn't just that it's hard for consumers to get the connection. It's that Netflix itself isn't clear about its intentions when it comes to getting more people to sign up for a data plan.
How do I activate Netflix on TV?
I recently bought a TV.
How do I activate Netflix on it? ? First, find the physical Netflix button on your television. The button looks like a remote control button with a Netflix logo on it. Once you have found the button, click it once to turn the television on and once more to turn the television off. You should see a Netflix logo at the top left of your television screen after the television is turned on. (If you do not see this, then Netflix is not turned on. Turn the TV on again until you see the Netflix logo.)
How do I cancel my subscription? Click on the Netflix logo to go to your Netflix home page. On the top right of the home page click "subscribe" at the bottom. On the next page, make sure that your status is "active". If you want to cancel, click on "Cancel". Make sure that you are connected to the Internet and try again. If the problem persists, please visit the Netflix help page and follow the steps mentioned there.
Why is Netflix not working on my smart TV?
I have a LG smart TV and every time I try to log on to Netflix, it says "The requested page is currently unavailable.
" I had this issue when I installed my first tv. It took a while, but I figured it out. I was able to watch Netflix fine on my computer, but not on the tv. Then, after I reinstalled it (so I wouldnt lose all the stuff I had saved), it worked on my tv, but it didn't work on my computer again. I tried everything, even resetting my router, but it still wouldn't work. I'm at a loss. Please help!
Re: ? The reason you couldn't access Netflix on your computer when you installed the first time was because it wasn't working with your Smart TV before. It needs to be set up before you can use it. You need to log in and do a factory reset first. This should solve the issue.
Thanks for the reply. I did a factory reset, and I can now log into my account on my laptop and view all of my content. It seems to work fine, but I am still unable to use it on my smart TV. I'm not sure if I should just give up or continue to try. Thanks for any help!
The only issue I am having now is that whenever I try to log into my account on the TV, I get a message saying "Your request has been temporarily blocked. Try again later". When I go back to the same page on the computer, it works fine. I think this is a temporary problem, because everything else has been working fine. The only time it says this is after I sign out on my TV and sign in on my laptop.
I think I am having the same issue, but I cannot access Netflix on the tv. I have changed the ip address in my router settings. I still get the message "Your request has been temporarily blocked. I have reset my router and tried different ports. I have restarted my tv and laptop. I am at a loss.
