Why can't my old iPad connect to Wi-Fi?

How to connect first gen iPad to Wi-Fi?

Hi everyone.

I'm having difficulty to connect the first gen iPad to Wi-Fi.e. When connecting to network in LAN I can do it. In WIFI though I have some Wi-Fi router. I'm currently facing problem in that router. Can't connect in WIFI router. It says there is no IP address in "192.168.0.254".

I wonder how do I solve it and what does IP address means? If you're connected to a Router, you don't need the Internet connection. All you need to do is type this into safari "about this mac" and it will tell you the address of the router.

If I don't got any IP address then how do I get IP address? I know I can assign an IP to it by assigning IP address to it. I did it but still can't use Safari on it. I got no Internet connection but can ping on computer. Also, I have no IP address but can download a file from it.

Do you still have the original router? if so you can go into that and assign the same IP address to it as you had before. MacRumors attracts a broad audience. Why won't my tablet connect to Wi-Fi anymore?

How do I fix it?

If you're having trouble connecting to a wireless network, there are plenty of reasons that can explain it. The main things to look for are: The tablet is properly turned on. The settings are correct. You're near your router and it's sending out a signal. The network security on your router is set correctly. Your browser isn't sending out a proxy request. No internet connection. There's not enough Wi-Fi power. No connection after using another network device like a laptop or smartphone. Here are some additional things to try: Check the power/battery on the tablet. Make sure the Wi-Fi switch on the back is not in the off position. Change the wireless network (ssid) name. Try resetting the network configuration (reboot). Change settings to test different protocols or encryption types. Check your browser for proxy settings. Check your ISP/Wi-Fi service provider's support. The steps below will hopefully help you troubleshoot wireless connectivity issues and fix any problems you have with your wireless network. Try using a device other than your tablet to confirm that the network has power. If the tablet is connected to your router via a cable, try plugging your tablet into a different wall outlet. If it's a charger or powered by an adapter, unplug the charger and plug your tablet into a different power source. If the battery is fully charged and it's still unable to connect to the Wi-Fi network, this could be a hardware issue. Try re-connecting the tablet to the adapter using the USB port on the computer instead.

There is a switch inside the tablet that lets you turn Wi-Fi off or on, and it can also select the network that you're connected to. If you're unable to turn Wi-Fi off and then on again or if the tablet is only able to connect to one Wi-Fi network, the switch might be stuck in a network mode. Try turning it to off, then on and then off again. If the tablet is still unable to connect to the Wi-Fi network, check whether the Wi-Fi switch is on.
