What happened to Sarek in Star Trek?

In Star Trek, Sarek is the father of Spock.

He is an alien who lives on a planet called Vulcan in the 30th century. In the series, he first appears in the episode The Naked Time, where he and his wife Amanda Grayson are captured by Kirk and his crew. Sarek's name was changed to "Sarek" because it sounded more alien than "Sarek". Sarek is not a doctor or a scientist but rather an educator. He teaches his son Spock how to be human.

The reason for Sarek being captured is that he is the ambassador for Vulcan in the Federation. He is not a Federation citizen, but an ambassador. At the time of the episode, the Federation is trying to maintain its peaceful relationship with the Klingons. The Federation wants to prevent another war and so they keep a close eye on the Klingons, which is why they are interested in Sarek.

Why did Sarek change his name? In The Original Series, Sarek's name was "Sarek", but by the time The Next Generation came around, it was changed to "Sarek" to sound more alien. By the time of Star Trek: Voyager, the change to "Sarek" had become permanent. It seems that Sarek's name was changed for legal reasons. As with most of the Klingons, the Klingon word "Sarek" is often misspelled.

According to Gene Roddenberry, the producers of The Original Series thought Sarek's name was hard to say and they felt it was easier to make it look like a human name. It wasn't until later that they realized how silly it sounded.

What does Sarek want? According to the Star Trek Encyclopedia, Sarek wants to live a quiet life, to be left alone and to educate his son, Spock. He wants Spock to be able to live a peaceful life without having to worry about war. Sarek believes that when a people live in peace, they can create wonderful art and music and have a great civilization.

In one of the episodes, Sarek is upset about the fact that the Klingons are killing off their own people to make more slaves.

Did Mark Lenard play a Klingon?

Was he the bad-guy in First Contact?

The question is simple, yet so difficult to answer. A couple of days ago, I watched the original version of Star Trek: The Motion Picture; for the first time in a long while, but not since childhood. To be precise, it was a week after finishing Season 4 of Big Bang Theory. And I'm glad I had the excuse. Star Trek: TMP was written in 1979 by David Livingston and Walter Hill and directed by Lorne Michaels (best known for producing Saturday Night Live). Before Big Bang Theory, I had never even heard of Livingston and Hill. And I was too young to watch The Original Series which, by the way, they've also brought back, just a few hours into Season 4.

Anyway, the movie stars Michael Dorn as Gul Dukat or Klingon 2 Mark Lenard as Mark Lor and I kid you not Leonard Nimoy (best known as the Star Trek actor/philosopher Spock) as the evil scientist named Dr. Noonian Soong. The only other notable characters are the baddies in Klingon armor with pointy ears and big muzzles, or what I assume to be their equivalents. What are those things? Were they human? Are they from some other star system? How did they survive in our universe? How could Spock die and be reborn in this series? There were certainly some great lines in this movie. But by the time my wife came home, I'd watched maybe 20 minutes. I'll have to do it again. And you?

In the original series, Spock and Dr. Noonian Soong were a father-son partnership. Not surprisingly, I think that the actor who portrayed Dr. Soong in the show was much older than Mark Lenard who played Mark Lor in the 2025 Star Trek film. And as far as appearances in TMP are concerned, we find that Dr. Noonian Soong has not appeared at all. And while Mark Lenard is listed as a guest star for that same film, and then there's the scene where Kirk mentions to a reporter that he lost his mother and a Klingon captain named Mark.
