How do I get Netflix on my Philips smart TV?
I am thinking about getting an HDT 2 and a Smart TV for home media for the kids.
How do I get Netflix, other apps and other services like YouTube or Crunchyroll on my Philips smart TV? Thanks! Saskia. Hi Saskia! When you buy a smart TV, you don't 'get' Netflix on it. You simply access it through the streaming service that the TV manufacturer and partner(s) have signed up with.
We're not sure what the exact list is for the UK at the moment. But on this page you can see all the streaming services we know of which currently support Philips TVs. We'll let you know if/when there's anything new.
Here's the best way to find out more: On your TV, head to Menu > Settings > Manage Apps and Services > Add-ons and Features. Make sure that the Netflix logo is green and that it says 'Add-ons' in blue font at the bottom right. If it doesn't, you need to first install the Netflix app from the app store for that model of TV. (If you only see a grey logo, click the TV you want to use - and if you don't see any logo, click 'Refresh').
Click the Netflix logo. Then go down to 'Service' and select one of the boxes beneath. Depending on the TV, it may be labelled 'Netflix OTT HD', 'Netflix VOD HD', 'Netflix Original', 'Netflix International', 'Netflix 4K Ultra HD', 'Samsung LiveTV' or 'Samsung Apps'. If the box is grey, then Netflix isn't available. (More on that later)
If the Netflix box is green, it means Netflix is available for that particular TV. When you've found one that's available, scroll down the web page until you see an option saying 'Sign in'.
Next, enter your login details as set up in your Philips account when you first bought the TV. Then tap 'Sign In'.
