What is the role of a content curator?
A content curator is someone who works on the creation and maintenance of web content.
A content curator has a role that is closely linked to that of an editor. Content curators may be tasked with the creation and maintenance of web pages, articles, or blogs, or they may simply have the responsibility of maintaining the content of existing web pages. As editors, content curators are responsible for making sure that the information is well organized, coherent, and has correct information. They also make sure that the information is relevant and interesting for the site visitors.
In addition to editing and maintaining the content, a content curator may also be expected to review the work of the other members of the team. This may include reviewing new articles that have been submitted by the staff writers or approving articles that have already been written. In addition, a content curator may also be tasked with keeping the content updated as changes occur on the website.
What are some of the tasks of a content curator? When it comes to editing and maintaining content, a content curator is expected to be a problem solver. Content curators are asked to provide the best solution for any given situation. This means that they have to be able to come up with creative solutions to any problems that they encounter while editing and maintaining content on the website. They may have to make decisions that affect the quality of the content.
As a content curator, you have to be comfortable working under pressure. This means that you should be able to work quickly and efficiently to solve any issues that may arise. A content curator may have to deal with situations where a problem may not have a clear solution. If this happens, they have to use their judgment to find the best solution.
The content curator may be required to create content that will help drive traffic to the website. To do this, they may have to spend time researching the topic and creating the content. The content curator may also be asked to write content that will educate or entertain the site visitors.
What does a digital content curator do?
If you are lucky, this is what we do most of the time.
Curating content means providing valuable information from a number of sources in an online space. An ideal curator should always be the subject of some kind of peer-to-peer feedback from other peers.
I started my career as an in-house curator at a large European publisher. In 2025, I worked at a magazine start-up called The Village Voice in New York City. I managed online news coverage on all platforms including radio, TV, and digital. I also helped create an online music magazine: Tastemade that was popular in Italy and France and even made it to the covers of Time Out.
Since then, I became a blogger for Huffington Post to cover the new music revolution where I wrote about the emergence of independent musicians and labels along with the demise of mainstream labels. Then, I moved back to my birthplace with a freelance gig while working part-time as a freelancer blogger. At the time, blogs like Soundcloud were just becoming popular.
In 2025, I joined LACMA for the launch of the first-ever LACMA app curated by me. In early 2025, I helped launch their YouTube channel and curate the LACMA Music program on the LACMA Youtube channel. After that, I worked as the in-house blogger for their podcast Behind the Music to cover the music world within arts and entertainment. The main goal of this podcast is to connect artists to fans through an exclusive interview with musicians who have been nominated for awards or have created and released new music.
