What is WCNA certification?

WCNA is an Associate of Technology - a certification that shows that a person has an adequate level of computer and networking knowledge to be able to perform his or her duties.

A certified associate understands the basic concepts, theories and technologies associated with the IT world. This means that the holder is able to comprehend various topics related to technology including but not limited to Operating Systems (Linux, Windows), Web Browsers (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome), applications (SQL Server, SQLite, Access, MS Office), software packages (MS Project, Visio, SQL Server Management Studio) and network/cabling issues.

This qualification is applicable to Computer Support Technicians (CST), Network Engineers (CNE), PC Techs, Application Developers, Hardware Administrators, Network Administrators and Database Administrators. What is the course duration? The minimum amount of time required for successfully passing the exam is 2 hours and 30 minutes (2.5 hours and 20 minutes for the re-examination). The examination will be held on-line.

Are there any prerequisites? An undergraduate or graduate degree in Information Technology (B.Sc, B.Eng, etc.) is sufficient. Alternatively, courses in IT and technical computing can be taken, which are required by some universities.

How much does the exam cost? There are two ways in which the test can be taken: online and physical test. How do I register?
