Why is my location wrong on Facebook?

How do I fix the Facebook Dating app glitch?

I am currently at level 17 and it doesn't let me get to the next level.

I have sent FB an email requesting a repair. So far have not received anything. It's just stuck at the 17 level. This is so frustrating.

I would like to use Facebook's dating app and the glitches aren't making that easy. There is usually a problem or not much choice available. Not happy. They need more variety of options. Other Facebook apps work perfectly fine.

My suggestion is that you do some research and find out what all these people are complaining about, before you open yourself up for potential damage by going ahead with a product launch that's going to be full of issues and not ready to go. What do you say is good enough? What works and what doesn't.

Please don't launch something that could turn out to be too flawed or has so many issues it's useless and nobody wants to purchase. Re: Help! ? Do you love your job? Do you love Facebook? Do you love Instagram? Can you build something that millions of people love on Facebook? Would you be excited and proud to see your name on TechCrunch, Time, CNN, or any media outlet? If you answered yes, then you are a "Facebook Hero"!

Why is Facebook Dating showing far away?

I have a friend who used Facebook Dating for a while and is happy with it.

However, she's saying she has matches show up more than 500 miles away (in another country) and her closest match is over 400 miles away. Why is this? Is this a limitation on Facebook's end or is it with the way the app is implemented in the app?

From TSF. We can think of two possibilities: Facebook is using an algorithm that shows users only their best matches. Since she had already seen her best matches, it showed her faraway matches as well, even though she hadn't viewed those profiles. It's technically possible that users could see faraway profiles via the algorithm. Facebook isn't restricting the user but showing all or too many results. Since we don't know much about the programming behind this, we can't tell. Even if it were possible to show only the user's best matches, the algorithm could still show all matches, which would be confusing. If anything, it would say something about the users who are signing up for the dating service. They either don't care about what happens at a distance, or they're not bothered by seeing their matches several hours away.

In short, one of us is wrong. You'll have to figure out which.

My guess is that the algorithm showing so many results is part of how Facebook decides to show you the best results on your News Feed. That's the general algorithm, right? It works at every profile-to-profile level if a user visits a new profile, the algorithm decides which of their friends likes it more and sends them there. The algorithm does this for thousands of profiles if your Facebook timeline contains thousands of likes, this algorithm will tell you who those thousands of people are, what they like, and send you to profiles they've liked.

This isn't some secret dating algorithm. It's actually the best way to sort people to people. If you go and spend a week reading a bunch of profiles to help choose who your best pick-up line is, it works. (Just kidding!

Why is my location wrong on Facebook?

We're sorry, but we can't provide you with a more accurate location than this because we don't have your location.

We show you our best guess so you'll be able to find what you're looking for on Facebook. If you'd like to turn this off, or have any other questions about turning your location off, read our help pages.

What happens if I turn my location off? If you turn your location off, your information won't appear on Facebook in apps or websites that use your location for things like advertising. It also won't show up on your timeline.

This does not affect how you share content from other apps or websites that have your location data, such as Instagram, WhatsApp, or Netflix. If you turn your location on, you may see some additional information on the app and website you use, like what your closest friends or people you're following are doing. You also may see more ads for places near you.

You'll also be able to tag the places you go using those apps and websites, and add notes or other information to the photos you take. This doesn't affect the ads and content you see elsewhere on Facebook or on other apps and websites. Can I turn my location on and off for different parts of Facebook? Yes. You can choose to turn on or off your location at any time by going to Settings > Location & Privacy.

Will my location always be on? If you decide to leave your location off, you can re-enable it at any time by going to Settings > Location & Privacy. Should I turn my location on? You can turn your location on if you want to see what your friends and family are doing when they're not sharing the details with you. For example, you might want to know what your friends are doing during their lunch break or when they're away from their phones.

If you don't turn your location on, you won't see any of your friends' activities on the apps or websites you use. You'll also see fewer ads for places near you, and you won't be able to tag places you go.

Why won't Facebook Dating change my location?

The company, which has roughly a billion members and is the second-most-popular app in the U.

S. Behind Facebook itself, will add its Dating API to the app to make it easier for developers to build apps on the platform that use Facebook's more secure login features.

The feature was announced alongside the release of Facebook's Open Graph. The new platform provides apps with the ability to additional methods of authenticating users, beyond a username and password.

With this update, apps can also add access tokens to existing Facebook accounts or create new ones that grant them access to friends' data. For example, apps could require users to have an account on Netflix, as it does now.

Apps using the API will also be able to make other changes to Facebook, such as accessing friends' "likes" or "interests," which they can use to create a targeted user experience on their own site. Apps using the service can also get information about friends' Facebook friends who are interested in the same topic as their users. Apps that include the new functionality can use Facebook Login for signup and logins, as well as to automatically log users in on other websites with "session cookies," which are small bits of data that sites store on your computer. What to do next. If you'd like to start using Facebook Dating, go to www.facebook.com/dating and click on the "Get Started" button at the top of the page.

The feature is currently available only to certain users in the U., but it will soon be released in all markets where Dating is available.
