How do I fix the Facebook Dating app glitch?

I am currently at level 17 and it doesn't let me get to the next level.

I have sent FB an email requesting a repair. So far have not received anything. It's just stuck at the 17 level. This is so frustrating.

I would like to use Facebook's dating app and the glitches aren't making that easy. There is usually a problem or not much choice available. Not happy. They need more variety of options. Other Facebook apps work perfectly fine.

My suggestion is that you do some research and find out what all these people are complaining about, before you open yourself up for potential damage by going ahead with a product launch that's going to be full of issues and not ready to go. What do you say is good enough? What works and what doesn't.

Why is Facebook Dating showing far away?

I have a friend who used Facebook Dating for a while and is happy with it.

However, she's saying she has matches show up more than 500 miles away (in another country) and her closest match is over 400 miles away. Why is this? Is this a limitation on Facebook's end or is it with the way the app is implemented in the app?

Since she had already seen her best matches, it showed her faraway matches as well, even though she hadn't viewed those profiles. It's technically possible that users could see faraway profiles via the algorithm. Facebook isn't restricting the user but showing all or too many results. Since we don't know much about the programming behind this, we can't tell. Even if it were possible to show only the user's best matches, the algorithm could still show all matches, which would be confusing. If anything, it would say something about the users who are signing up for the dating service. They either don't care about what happens at a distance, or they're not bothered by seeing their matches several hours away.

In short, one of us is wrong. You'll have to figure out which.

My guess is that the algorithm showing so many results is part of how Facebook decides to show you the best results on your News Feed. That's the general algorithm, right? It works at every profile-to-profile level if a user visits a new profile, the algorithm decides which of their friends likes it more and sends them there. The algorithm does this for thousands of profiles if your Facebook timeline contains thousands of likes, this algorithm will tell you who those thousands of people are, what they like, and send you to profiles they've liked.

This isn't some secret dating algorithm. It's actually the best way to sort people to people. If you go and spend a week reading a bunch of profiles to help choose who your best pick-up line is, it works. (Just kidding!
