Does Proxifier work with Mac?

I have been looking for a good Anti-Malware program to use on my Mac.

But the Macs I have tried to install have not liked Proxifier, some say that it doesn't detect them and others say that if it does work then it gives many popups, and it also takes up a lot of my battery. Do any of you guys have experience with it? Does it work? Does it cause more popups than they are worth or will it work as well as advertised? Thank you
Hi, do NOT install proxifier unless you're using a PC computer that has already been scanned by ClamXam or other like it or MacAfee, there was a case in which someone in a forum installed proxifier on a computer with a brand new OS, the person ended up deleting everything due to proxifiers problems. So don't do that at all. Besides ClamXam does a really good job detecting Macs. It is also better than installing avira, norton or windows defender. I hope this helps you.

I personally recommend the following Anti-Virus. AntiVir - Best Free AV available for any Mac including Aplies or OS 10.5 or higher, works with all files.

ESET (Pro, Standard and Anti-Spyware only). If your Mac comes bundled with the "security suite" that can get you up and running with the "Mac Security". ESET has a reputation for being able to detect and remove even nasty spyware, however my experience is that although it works it is a bit slow, so sometimes it might not catch something on the second run of the scan.

ClamXAm. I recently upgraded from ClamXam 6 Standard to the professional version. I used it with the free trial version of ESET for over a month and didn't notice any difference in detection rates (for me at least). Both are great, you just need to make sure that all files that open while the virus checker runs are saved using the safe-save-as mechanism provided. Also there is a small delay between clicking scan and having the results presented. The first time you run the scan. But after that the results are fast and reliable.
