Standard Proxifier Portable works with either Windows or Mac computers and can be used to block access to a specific website or to restrict website access on your mobile phone. Proxifier Standard is a powerful parental control solution that allows you to limit all the actions your kids are able to perform in your computer. Both versions of the app can block website access or let you set up a schedule for when you want their access restricted. What's more, both versions of the app are completely free.

Our customers often ask if Proxifier Portable includes any kind of malware protection. We would like to reassure them that even if they download this type of malicious program, it won't be able to get any personal data from their system unless they manually type in their username and password. That said, it's not unusual to receive spam or phishing emails. To make sure Proxifier doesn't get hijacked and that this is the only sort of virus found, your anti-virus software should be set to scan for any problems the day after you install Proxifier.

Proxifier Portable Review (2018). We have tested Proxifier Portable extensively and found it to be well designed, free, easy to use and to be quite effective. The interface is intuitive, the apps work as promised and the free options are easy to use and effective. For example, you can use both versions of the app to block access to specific websites at set times and you can set these times to begin during one of your kids' waking hours or a bedtime. Even though Proxifier is free to use, the most advanced features require premium subscription. If your family can use the Proxifier Standard version, you can stop here and then use the Proxifier Free version.

Is Proxifier a VPN?

The best description of Proxifier is that it's a private browser, meaning that when you use the application, you are browsing the internet in an environment where your IP address appears to be your own, not that of the site you're visiting.

To understand what Proxifier offers in terms of security benefits, it's best to look at the differences between a VPN and Proxifier first. In terms of what Proxifier does as a private browser, Proxifier acts as a normal browser just like any other, but the traffic you see over the internet is routed through Proxifier's servers. This makes your IP address appear to be your own instead of someone else's and prevents anyone from tracking or recording your internet activities.

Proxifier has a few different ways to change your IP address, depending on what mode you have selected. When you switch between different modes, your IP address will also change.

On first use, Proxifier will offer you the option to select either one-time-password (OTP) or two-factor authentication (2FA). OTP gives you a password that will only work on Proxifier, whilst 2FA will need your password as well as a one-time code sent to your mobile device via SMS. For now, OTP is the only option as we need to improve our SMS support, and 2FA is still undergoing development.

Selecting OTP. In order to access one-time password mode, go to your application settings, and click on "settings". Here, look for "login options", and select "OTP mode". You'll be then prompted to enter your username and password.

2FA should appear under the same menu as OTP. In addition, this mode will also send a random one-time code to your mobile phone by SMS every time you log in. Just as with OTP, you'll have to enter your username and password.

Now, you can choose which servers to connect to and their network, which is similar to a VPN. To change your servers, select "server list". You can create a new server at this time if you'd like, and it will not be saved until you've logged in again.

If you want to use an existing server, you'll see the number of connections it has.

What is Proxifier used for?

Proxifier is designed to help in getting rid of the annoying black lines on your windows and helps in making your Windows more visible and easily readable.

If you have seen your computer working well before installing Proxifier, then you will not find any significant change in your system. Proxifier has the ability to create new transparent screens on your computer at any time when you want to view the display window (window that covers the entire display area of your PC. You can also save the display window as a file or open the file that you can then re-use it whenever you want to access the window. This allows you to move windows when needed.

How to use Proxifier. If you have never used a similar application, then before you start using the application, make sure you read its features first. If you don't know what you are doing, then don't install the application because this will just increase your frustration.

To use Proxifier, go to the location where you have stored the file. Now run the executable and use the Close button available in the top menu bar to exit out. You can always see the screen options and other controls in the app. To enable window scaling option, go to the options tab of the Proxifier program.

Is there a free version of Proxifier?

Does Proxifier still support Linux Mint?

I'd like to try it out, but I can't find any sort of free version. It's included in the official ISO image, or you can install it via a .deb file available from the downloads page. The latest versions include support for LXDE and XFCE too.

I have tested it and found that it doesn't work under LXDE or XFCE because they use a different tool for proxying. See this discussion on the Proxifier list for more information. If you have a web browser other than Firefox installed you can use it with a simple text file (see the link above for how to use Firefox to proxy a text file).

One thing that you should know is that Firefox is not an ordinary text file, and is a program that can open other programs. This is to support plugins such as Flash and Java. For example if you were to open your web browser with Proxifier set as a proxy and load a URL that opens a Word document (as an example), Firefox will not open a Word document since it is not listed as a supported file type. This is a common problem with proxying as it supports very few file types.
