How do I get a passport ASAP in NYC?

I'm going to NYC for the month of January on business and am looking for the quickest, cheapest way to get a new passport.

I have heard about the expedited service at NY Passport Express, but there seems to be multiple options. What do you all recommend? I'm going to check it out now so I know what I'm getting into, but I'd like to hear what everyone else has used or is planning to use.

NYPASSEXPRESS EXPEDITO- This is a great deal for anyone who needs their passport expedited because of travel plans, job transfer, moving, etc. And it is also cheaper than other services out there (most likely your local US office). My experience was great with this company. I just had it mailed directly to me and it was delivered within a couple of days and it came out all perfect. The process was not hard at all and it takes less than 2 weeks. I would definately try this company out because it has been good for me. I will give them 5 stars in my review.

EXPRESS PASS EXECUTED- This is the option I normally go with. The process has been longer with this option, as I went through this one last year and the wait time was about 3 weeks. I can't speak about how quick it was and how nice it was in service since I had already gone through before. It will take about 3 weeks. I would definitely read reviews to see if someone else did not get good service. I would give this option 4 stars, but the 3-week wait would probably deter some people.

US PASSPORT EXCELLENCE- They are very good, I have done two passports with them. They can actually expedite even on a weekend. I would give them 5 stars for the speed. When you send in your application package the package must be mailed within a certain time frame after application. If the mail is late they will contact you or come to your home. The whole process was very easy.

I recently went back to New York to visit my hometown because I was getting married.

My husband and I didn't know whether we needed a passport or not. We only spent 2 days there, as we flew out right after our wedding! How hard is it to get a passport in NY? I have all my documents listed (and proof that we are still together in case there is any reason for questions) so will the passport come faster now if I have all the papers in front of them? Also I am asking because my friend's passport renewal took a few months to come. The woman I went to the embassy with said it would be 30 days. When they do an appointment for you, what happens then? Do they tell you anything that's happening before the appointment or when it is happening (I thought I was due like 3-4 weeks ago but the lady didn't mention it) - I don't remember seeing a time stamp on her website. What do you mean you take 2 months? The only thing my friend had was the old passport and an interview form to fill out, but that didn't take two months.

Anyhow, this is really important, I just need to know how hard is it to get a passport quickly and what happens during the entire process. There is some money I want to pay if its easy, but I also want to make sure it doesn't take months - we will be getting married the end of February, so any suggestions please! We've all been there waiting for the passport office to open hours before and then all of a sudden opening it and then closing it again and then opening it etc. Just go, get it done. That is what it is suppose to be about.

A couple months ago it was getting harder to renew a passport in NYC, probably because of the new immigration laws that allow people from here to stay here illegally for a period of time. I think there were 6 months before they were allowed to travel.
