Can I get my passport on the same day in USA?
I'm going to the USA in December for a visit, I have a 2 week visa and want to know what time I need to take it with me to the airport.
Also is it possible to get my passport ready before my flight? Also is it possible to get my passport ready and then go on a short vacation during my stay in USI don't want to travel back home to India only after completing my work.
First, you should know that it will take 3-4 business days for your application to be processed and issued (even on a weekend, so expect this). You must do one of two things to expedite it further: have a non-refundable ticket to fly within 3 days of the visit, or. Have a hotel reservation for the stay, if it's not on the same side of the border as where you want to depart from (and if that option is available in your case). With that out of the way, please make sure that you will be taking the fastest route possible through security, because you could be delayed for hours and hours. There are many people with special needs who need things like an electric wheelchair to get past security, and you will miss your flight if you are delayed.
Even if you are delayed only by a few minutes, if the line is too long at a security checkpoint you won't be able to exit without a special appointment; when you're holding up hundreds of people you don't have one of those. Once you get to the airport, make sure you've taken any prescriptions and other travel-required medications, etc. Into your carry-on luggage because once you get past TSA security you won't be able to take them out. If it's a tourist visit, they usually don't need to apply for a visa, but just in case you do want to apply for a US visa in India you need to book a flight out of India so you can be here for the interview. If you don't have a visa for the US, or don't have a ticket to return home, you won't be able to depart the US.
What is the fastest way to get a passport in NY?
Is this true? I need to go to NY next week for business, can anyone give me a little advice on where/how to go in the next 7 days if this is the case? It may be time sensitive due to my situation. I need my passport now but it will take a few days to clear up. Answer: If you don't have time to pay a expediting fee, there are 3 alternatives: You can apply directly to the US Passport Agency. There is a processing fee for this method.
You can apply for a passport at a local US Consulate. Some of them are open until 7 PM Eastern Time (you will need to check with your local consulate) You can fly to a city in another country (and return on a different flight) and get a visa in your passport. This can be very expensive, sometimes more than the passport. You can travel while the passport is still valid by using the machine.
I'll answer your question, however you want to ask the questions. But first, as I mentioned, I have some advice about your passport situation. I understand you need to go to New York tomorrow. Therefore, you cannot wait until next week to get the passport, even if that means a fee. My recommendation is to apply for a passport immediately. The processing time for a passport is about 10 days. A passport can be used for 6 months, so if you plan on traveling while it is in force, you can leave it in NY and pick it up later. If you need it earlier than that, you will either need to pay for an expedited process or obtain a temporary passport. You may be able to get a passport from a US consulate in a neighboring country.
Does NYC passport agency accept walk ins?
I applied for a US passport in NYC recently, and got my appointment (after a 4 day wait) only to find out that they would not be able to take walk ins for appointments. I was told that only people living in the NYC city limits can get an appointment. This was very disappointing, because I travel frequently for work, and my passport expires in 2024. Am I stuck in NYC, or is there another way to get this done?
Re: NYC passport agency accepts walk ins? Well, if you are unable to get an appointment, then I would say that this is a good thing. If your application will need to be processed within a few days, then you may not have any other choice.
If the office is open, then you could just go in to look at your passport application and file it. There is no reason to leave and come back later if you have time to wait for your appointment. However, if the office is closed, then your options are limited.
Another option would be to contact the Passport Help line to see if they can help you. But ultimately, you will want to know for sure why you did not get an appointment. If it was because you were a walk-in, then you may want to consider contacting the passport help line. They might be able to tell you why your application was not accepted.
Good luck! PS - Just for clarification, if you are applying in New York City, then you would have access to the passport help line. It is not just limited to "non-city limits".
The passport office is open all day on weekdays, with no appointment required. Unfortunately, the lines are enormous, and there is a good chance that you will be turned away, in which case, it might better to do what the others have suggested -- go into the office and ask someone else if they can help.
Thanks guys, that's good to know. So they won't take walk ins on certain days, but they will on others, so you should be fine getting in and filing on a weekday. I did talk to them by phone and I think they were thinking about adding walk ins to their schedule sometime in the future.
Where can I get a passport in one day in New York?
I am a Canadian Citizen and I will be traveling to NYC for a one week stay in the US in early April.
I will not be staying in NYC but in the city itself. My concern is if I visit a visa office during my trip and get a passport stamped in NYC on my return will I have to leave the city or does it not matter because of where I was in NYC?

In the city you're going to, you will need to have your passport stamped as you enter and exit. You can do that at a consulate, or online at US Citizen Services website. If you were to fly from JFK to Miami, the consulate is in DC, so you would need to go to that consulate if you wanted a stamp.
The answer is yes. While some people can get stamps from the Visa Desk in the airport, they will have to go to the passport office to get their passports stamped. You can go to the passport office to get your passport stamped as many times as you like within a short period of time.
If you want a full set of pages, you can get multiple pages per day. In most cases, you need a minimum of two pages per day and an application fee in order to get a passport stamped on your passport.
This is correct. The stamps are counted only when you enter/exit the country. If you are traveling through one of the gateways into/out of the US, then you will need to get your passport stamped upon your entry/exit.
What you need to do is to go to one of the Consulates or Passport Offices and get your passport stamped. This is the official term for it. If you want more information about it you can go to the United States Department of State's website.
There are two types of stamps you can get. You can get a stamp when you enter the country. Or, you can get a stamp when you leave the country. A stamp when you enter the country is called an Entry Stamp. A stamp when you leave the country is called an Exit Stamp.
When you enter the US you will need to get your passport stamped at a Consulate or Passport Office. When you leave the US you will need to get your passport stamped at a Consulate or Passport Office.
A few words of warning: The passport stamp that you get may not last forever.
