How quickly can I get an emergency passport?

What's the quickest you can get an emergency passport?

I need to get out of the US, fast.

The last few weeks have been extremely stressful for me and my family, and I've been trying to get out of the country as soon as possible. My last minute emergency passport application was denied, but I can't get a new one because the US Consulate in London is closed for the weekend.

If I don't get out of the US by Monday, I'm going to have to face a lot of very unpleasant consequences, so I really need an emergency passport. I can't get a visa for any country, not even Australia, and I can't get one of those expedited passports that gets you out of the country in 48 hours. So, my question is: what's the quickest I can get an emergency passport? Does anyone know of any way I can get one, other than going to the US Consulate in London on Monday morning and hoping they have a cancellation? It's not possible to get an emergency passport. If you want to get out of the country, you will have to apply for a visa.

The quickest way to get a visa is to contact the embassy in your home country and ask them if you can get a visa. It's often very easy to get a visa. You can also try the visa@state.gov website which is run by the State Department.

If you are desperate, there is a way to get a passport within 48 hours. This is done by filling out an application at the nearest passport office. Unfortunately this is not a safe way to do it, as it is impossible to verify that you actually applied at the right place. This is a scam. If you fill out the application at the right place, you will be given a passport. However, the passport will be fake.

Your best bet is to contact your local consulate. You can search their website for what's open and when. They're usually open Monday-Friday, and closed for the weekend. If you're in the US, it'll probably be somewhere in the Midwest (ie Chicago, Detroit, etc). Your consulate will be able to tell you what days they're open and when you can apply.

Can I get a USA emergency passport same day?

Ive only ever gotten them done at the border for a return ticket and my trip to Mexico in June.

Ive applied for them before and was told they can take about 2 weeks. Has anyone been in this position with their passport expiring on my US trip? What has worked for you so far?

Hi,I know a passport office near you has a number that helps get through this. I'm in AZ but I have a friend who lives in SD. There are no consular service units here that I know of though, they must be scattered all across the USA and Mexico. The passport office is actually one of the consulates, but you just show your passport like normal instead of calling or visiting the consulate. This seems to have been the most effective for us - I was there one time but I did not talk to a consulate employee as that was not necessary for me.

Sorry that you didn't use a credit card. My understanding, which may be wrong, is that if you're over 18 then you should be able to purchase one with the proper ID via your US card.

The passport office where I live isn't one of the larger consulates that do passport work, it's just one of the small offices like the ones at gas stations and drug stores. They don't hold passports, just assist you with the actual process.

This post is way old now, but I believe what my original source said. You can order a passport the day it expires from the mail order form they put on the front of the passport booklet. That way the passport will not be available for any other uses if you buy it that way. I think though it may better to use someplace closer to the border.

Well, I was hoping to get an expedited one on Friday the 21st. Originally Posted by fw

Can I get my passport on the same day in the USA?

I am traveling from the US to Germany in a few days and I will have my passport.

My parents are going to meet me in the US and they will be bringing it with them. We will be staying in Chicago before traveling to Germany. Can I get my passport on the same day? Do I have to go to the airport or can I just show up to the embassy in Chicago and get it?

If you are flying to the USA, you should be able to get your passport while still in the US. The US has a system of passport on arrival where you can get your passport at the airport even if you are not leaving the country.

You should also be able to get your passport in Chicago, assuming that you have the right to enter the country and that you will not be going to any other countries during the visit. There is no way of knowing if you will be able to get your passport in Germany, though. The rules are different for people who are only transiting through the country (you're not staying there long enough), and you would have to check the requirements in Germany.

When you fly to the USA, your passport will be checked when you arrive. You are permitted to leave and re-enter the country with your passport. The time between the two entries will count towards your total travel time, but you will not be penalized if you do it. If you leave and re-enter the USA within a 24 hour period, then you can be subject to additional time requirements for your return entry.

Do note that if you were visiting the USA for less than 90 days, you may be required to have a visa before you leave. Your passport is not required when you return, though.

Yes, you can get your passport in the US. You don't need to go to the airport, but you should be aware that you are allowed to visit other countries while in the US with your passport.

Note that you may need a visa for Germany, so this might not be a good idea. Check with your airline before leaving the US. Also, see this page for the exact procedures.
