I decided to give it a try and it seemed to work fine for the most part. I created a profile, input a few of my favourite local places and then looked at my options. I tried searching for 'pizza' and it showed me the nearest pizza places. However, when I typed 'ice cream' into the search box it didn't show anything at all. I tried several other phrases but it was always the same.
What I like about this service is that I can save up to 4 locations as favourites and whenever I'm walking around town I just search for my favourites and I'm brought right back to where I left off. This is a great way to find local businesses. However, when I typed in a search for 'ice cream' and I got no results at all. It really isn't fair! If I search for a place that doesn't have any ice cream stores nearby it will give me a list of restaurants but it won't show me ice cream stores even though there are plenty of them in the area.
I contacted the company and they were really quick to respond to my email. They told me that there was no problem with their system and they said that it was just a temporary glitch. It seemed like a good idea at the time but it's definitely not as good as it says it is. I guess this is what happens when you try to get a lot of people using your system at once. This should be a service that everyone uses because it's a great way to find local businesses but the problem is that it can't find them all. It just can't. It's almost like a pay per view service. You should only be paying for the convenience of being able to search for local businesses and not just restaurants.
This is a free service that should be able to do everything it claims to do. If it's not working properly then this should be addressed and fixed as soon as possible. I've seen other similar services that are also not working and I'm not sure why.
