Why does Google keep saying this phone number cannot be used for verification?

Why is Apple saying this phone number cannot be used at this time?

The reason is that even though your number has been ported from one carrier to another, it is not a universal number.

Universal numbers cannot be ported from one carrier to another. This means that for any phone number other than a Universal number it can only be ported to AT&T (it's actually on Verizon's website as a Universal number that I saw).

You would have to call up AT&T's tech support and explain the issue to them. It may be an issue that AT&T can fix, but it could also be that your port is unsuccessful.

Why will Apple ID not accept my phone number?

To set up Apple ID on a new device, you must supply a mobile phone number associated with that Apple ID.

This is the only way that iTunes or the App Store can verify your identity and enable you to make purchases. A mobile phone number serves as the primary way that an iPhone user can authenticate her account. Without it, you won't be able to purchase any apps or make payments through the App Store or iTunes store. If you're not willing to supply your mobile phone number, then you'll have to find another way to set up your Apple ID account. We recommend setting up your account with a friend.

Why does Google keep saying this phone number cannot be used for verification?

I have an app which requires OTP verification before account creation, however when I set the default code to 12345, Google says that: "The phone number cannot be used for verification.

Please select a different code". However, I have verified this app in App Store and Google Playstore multiple times. App Store verified successfully even after selecting a new code, Google Playstore always complains. How can I overcome this problem? Please follow this steps: Clear your apps' (or your app's) data in Google Play, by going to Settings -> Apps & notifications -> All tab -> Select your application -> Clear data. Open your application's Google Play console and navigate to Billing settings -> Billing methods. Please make sure you have selected your application and not another app. (You should have only one app/in your play console)
If you see 12345 is your default code then change it to some other code (not same as old) and try again. If 12345 still the old code, change the whole code to some other code.

For a specific question like this, always ask support, there are probably a dozen possible scenarios and it might be an account creation scenario.

How to fix this phone number cannot be used for verification?

I purchased a new phone number (for example) yesterday and the first 3 numbers of the new number was already used. I tried to use the new number but when I try to verify my number, the verification says that "The verification code cannot be used for this phone number.

It looks like an error and it's something I didn't do because I didn't even know there was any such number that could be used for verification. But it's not. I have checked all possible numbers on the list of used numbers. Can you please tell me what should I do?

My last question is about my previous number. I've used it for more than 6 months now, and I just wanted to change the number. I checked the list of used numbers and found one number that has the same name as my previous one. What should I do? It's the number of my brother.

Hello. I'm not sure how you got there, but I think you have to call customer service for a solution to your problem. I don't know if they'll let you change your number. The numbers you have are just for verification and can't be used for phone calls. Sorry I don't know what your issue is so I don't know how to help.

I have the same issue as you. I have a line with the same name as a previous line, and I have to use the verification code. I have checked all the numbers in my area and all of them are different numbers. Is there a way that I can change my number?

I just want to check that this is right, or at least worth a try. If you press 9 on the number pad of the phone and you get a verification code, try the same number but before the #, type in the number "800", and then you should get a verification code. If it works, great, you're set. If it doesn't, then you need to go to your carrier and ask them to move your line to a different number. Good luck.

Thanks for the response. I did try the 800 number method, and it worked. But, I need to tell you that the number that I want to use is not only the 800 number. I already tried to use the 800 number and it didn't work. I need to use the number that I have now.
