How do I unlock my iPhone with a passcode instead of Face ID?
I enabled Face ID, tried to use Face ID and it's not working.
I tried several times with my passcode and it still not working.
If Face ID or Touch ID doesn't work, try to go to Settings > Security > passcode (you will need to allow access to your camera & location) and use it to unlock your phone. Face ID is designed to make your iPhone work with you at home and everywhere you go, but some things can't be detected using a photo. When this happens, Face ID unlocks your device instead of a passcode.
For help with the issue please refer to the full instructions below. Instructions: Open the Settings app. Scroll down to the bottom and tap on General. Scroll down to Face ID & Passcode and enable the Face ID and Passcode Lock options. Select Set Passcode and type a passcode that is equal or greater than eight digits. Make sure to use lowercase letters. You will be asked to put your finger on your Home screen to unlock the iPhone.
In case of any problems, you can go to Settings and Settings > General > Reset All Settings to clear all user data. Please allow the settings to be restored if required.
In case of any further issues, please use the iForums or contact Apple support, depending on your situation. The following devices are not able to use Face ID, and must use a passcode instead: Siri.e. IMessage. Apple Pay. News. Music. Health. Notes. Wallet. Find My Friends. Camera. Video. In some instances, Face ID might turn off automatically when you close the screen or leave the field, but will re-enable itself when you wake up your iPhone.
Can you bypass iPhone passcode without computer?
Yes you can.
But not easy.
If you are asked to enter your iPhone passcode on a computer for any reason, you can always do so if you have the right tools. Apple makes it fairly easy for iOS users to disable passcode protection or at least have a way to bypass it. It isn't a lot of fun, and requires some technical know-how.
Bypassing iPhone passcode on Mac OS X with a USB Wi-Fi Keychain (for iPhone 4S and later). The easiest way to bypass an iPhone passcode without a computer is with a USB Wi-Fi Keychain. It uses your iPhone to unlock the device for you. You'll need to plug in your phone, but you can then enter your password and gain access to the device. In most cases, that will suffice.
The great thing about the USB Wi-Fi Keychain is that it can also be used with older iPhones, like the iPhone 4S. So you can use this as a way to regain access to your device if you lose your iPhone 4S passcode. You don't need to pay Apple for the new iCloud Keychain feature for that.
It's easy to set up. Go to your iPhone settings > General > Passcode Lock. Make sure that it's enabled, then click the button next to Use Your iPhone as Password Lock.
Connect a USB Wi-Fi Keychain to your iPhone and wait a few seconds. You'll now see the device list below on the Keychain menu. On top of that, you can choose which apps and websites you want access to. You can also change the order they're listed. Click Continue to proceed.
When the last item completes, the device will no longer ask for a passcode or for your input. You now have full access to your device, even when offline. If you have many passwords stored in Keychain, you'll be asked if you want to add them to the list. Click Add All to proceed.
If you want to remove your device from the keychain, simply unplug it. The next time you reconnect it, it will ask you to unlock the device, allowing you to do so if you prefer. If you choose to do so, remember the passcode when you restart the device.
How do you factory reset an iPhone without a passcode or computer?
It would not be appropriate to ask "How do you factory reset an iPhone without a computer", since many people would know this anyway.
My question is, how can you factory reset a smartphone without a computer? For instance, I have an iPhone, and I don't know my iPhone password. So I'm out of luck. But I'd like to factory reset my iPhone (which I know the passcode to) without the use of iTunes. Is this possible? If so, how?
In iOS8 and later you can use the 'Reset this iPhone' feature with your iPhone/iPad. It only takes a few seconds to reset an iPhone if you have one of the two versions available. Otherwise, it allows you to set a new iPhone passcode without being prompted for it.
For example: Enable Reset this iPhone on an iPhone 5 or later. Your next reset will happen automatically when your device is locked.
With your device unlocked and turned on, press and hold down either the power button or home button until you see the message, Connect to iTunes. In the list of apps below the screen, tap the Reset button to reset your device to its factory default settings. The iPhone displays an alert that your device has been reset. After your device is restored, you need to complete initial setup using the Setup Assistant or by entering your iCloud Apple ID and password.
