Can Google Maps share location between iPhone and Android?
It seems you have to ask Google to grant access to your location data to a certain application in order to share it between those two mobile phones.
I'm not asking about the location of my phone, but the exact location of my phone's camera and speaker (ie. Its microphones).
Is that possible with Google Maps? If so, does anyone know how to do this? I don't care if Google Maps shares my location, or just the data of my phone's hardware (phone number, etc. I know, as a user, I can give Google Location Services permission to access my location, but the problem is that apps that use that ability are granted by the user, and not by Google. If they're granted by Google, that means Google is sharing my location data between their apps, which I don't want.
How do I do this? If you just want the user location, then this is not possible.
How do I change which device shares location on Find My?
I want to change the device that shows my location on Find My so it shows my phone's location instead.
How do I change it? It used to work when I switched phones, but the new phone has the "show location on Find My" option set to "phone only" by default, which I don't want.
Can you remember which phone it worked on? If you can then use the info I have. The iPhone is the only device that shares the phone's location. You can share any location on your Mac or PC. Click on Settings on your iPad/iPhone and tap "iCloud". Click on "Find My iPhone". This should list the devices that were connected and have their locations shared.
To add a device to be shown on Find My follow these steps. Note: If you have more than one device connected with iCloud and are using an iOS 11 (or later) device you may have to reconnect them all before you can select one.
Go to the Settings app. Tap iCloud. Tap on Find My iPhone. You'll need to enter the iCloud password on each device to make it available for tracking. Thanks for this info! The only device that shows my location right now is my phone and on iOS 11. I thought the phone used to be the only device that showed my location when I looked at it on a Mac or PC, but apparently not.
