How do I move Aloha downloads to SD card?

Are Aloha downloads private?

Answer: No.

There is no such thing as a completely private Aloha download. However, you can protect the data from interception. That is, your phone should be connected to a wifi router that only you and the people you trust can access.

The reason I say this is that there are ways to intercept the traffic, for example, on unencrypted wifi connections, you can sniff the network traffic by running programs like Wireshark or Ethereal. You can find this out yourself. Go to a place like Starbucks or McDonalds or a library where free wifi is available and do some testing. If you have some skills, you can automate this process by writing software. If you don't know how to write the software, then you need someone to set this up for you.

If you don't trust this person (which is hard to understand since it's so small scale), you could buy a box of pre-built hardware. But remember that any WiFi capture is limited to a few minutes or a few hours - after that, unless you record the data later, you will not be able to get any further information. (However, some phones let you use their storage for other tasks - eg an encrypted file storage system).

Can Aloha still be used for encryption? Or would it better to use the normal "secure" methods? Aloha supports TLS v1.2 and v2.0 and I recommend using v2.0 due to the newer protocols not requiring handshakes every few seconds.

I'd recommend looking into WPA/WPA2 mixed mode. It is the default mode in many places, including Android, Linux, Windows, etc. In fact, it's not a bad choice at all if you don't need to limit connectivity to certain devices, or to users of specific devices.

To answer your original question: Aloha does indeed have the same problem as WEP: once the data is received, it will remain there forever. Unless, of course, the device is rooted. Then it's game over for everyone. But the main difference is that Aloha won't encrypt your entire disk - just your WiFi network.

Also, with the recent WPA3 standards, you won't need to have "mixed mode". This is because WPA3 is a downgrade of WPA2.

How do I move Aloha downloads to SD card?

I have a rooted Aloha G2 phone with 2GB SD card.

I have a bunch of downloads on it, but I want to move them to the SD card. I've tried downloading from the SD card, but it doesn't work. When I select the SD card it says "This is not a supported location." What do I need to do?

Thanks for your reply! I've tried it with 1.5 GB SD card, so far so good. There are some files in the downloads folder that I can't move to the SD card (like wallpapers and some other small things). So I don't think it's a problem with the SD card, but with Aloha. Are you sure you moved everything to the SD card? There are some files in the downloads folder that I can't move to the SD card (like wallpapers and some other small things). Hi there. If you have the option in the software to select where to save the downloaded files.

How do I sync my Aloha browser?

I have Aloha installed on my old laptop (HP Pavilion) running Windows 7 Pro. I've read the article about it in the FAQ section, but can't find a copy of the Sync File List.json file that is supposed to be located on my C: drive.

Where do I get this file? If I move it into my computer's file directory and then run Aloha via the Java app, it opens without any of my bookmarks. Does anyone know the answer to this question? Did you download the Aloha zip file with your bookmarks, or try to sync them from within the browser itself? If you did the former, you need to download the zip file which contains a json file called aloha.json - look for it under C:Program FilesAlohaBrowserpluginssync If you downloaded from inside of Aloha (the browser itself), you need to use a plugin that will sync between different programs. It used to be called Aloha plugin that syncs between the browsers, now the one I found only syncs between Firefox and Aloha (for Linux and OS X).

I think your choice is between the one that syncs between Firefox, Thunderbird and Aloha (Firefox Sync) or the second one that syncs between Aloha and Windows Live Messenger.
