Do I need VPN with SOCKS5?
If you're in US then most likely not.
You don't have to have a VPN to connect to the internet since most of the users already have an internet service provider that offers SOCKS5.
What if I want to change internet provider? To avoid any issues, make sure your internet provider is connected to the internet through SOCKS5 before installing our application. Most ISPs provide their customers with a router (such as the Netgear N600), which supports HTTP and SOCKS5 protocols.
Is my data secured with the encryption? Yes, all the messages are secured by SSL/TLS protocol using strong cryptography algorithms that are beyond human comprehension. Additionally, we use secure 256-bit AES encryption.
What are the costs of data packets? Our service does not charge any costs for the data packets because our service utilizes existing Internet infrastructures and we do not modify them in any way. Is my data safe with my ISP? That's a great question! We will never disclose any information about your traffic or data without your permission and only for you to protect against government access to your data. Therefore, your traffic and data are 100% safe! I'm a heavy internet user, does it affect my internet usage? No, because we're not using your data but our own. Besides, our service will not slow down your internet as long as your internet provider is connected through a SOCKS5 server. Also, you can monitor traffic for both apps and websites by checking the Traffic tab.
How many emails can I send through one app? It all depends on the email provider you're connected to. If you're connected to Gmail, then you can send up to 200 emails per day. However, you need to be careful and keep your Gmail account active.
How much email accounts will my ISP allow me to send per day? You can check your Internet Service Provider FAQ page for email limits. Note that some ISPs have different limitations than others. For example, Hotmail has a very large limit, while Gmail has limited.
I'm a light internet user, will my ISP stop throttling my traffic?
How does a SOCKS proxy work?
The idea is simple: you get Internet traffic through a web browser and the web browser is told to send that traffic to some other host via SOCKS.
It will appear that you are sending the traffic to the proxy and it will actually be going directly to the destination server, or "destination". You can use this in order to avoid being blocked by a website firewall and get around a network policy of the type "firewall doesn't permit HTTP traffic in or out of our building". If you are really determined though, then you can tunnel TCP connections between the Internet and your computer - see here for more information on how that is done.
The SOCKS5 protocol is in place in many applications but is only rarely implemented correctly because the server needs to keep up the conversation with the client. If you want to make this work on the Internet, the client needs to talk to a different host than the one which provides the SOCKS service so that the firewall doesn't block you. But how does the firewall know that it's talking to a SOCKS server and not another website? It turns out there is no answer to this. For this reason I've gone with SOCKS5D instead of SOCKS5 which provides much better answers and allows for the protocol to continue after authentication has been achieved. The problem is, though, that when you click the "OK" button in Firefox, you are actually initiating an HTTP CONNECT to a new (HTTP) host and not a new SOCKS host. As a result, the firewall assumes you have tried to connect to another host, not a SOCKS server, and blocks you. I don't think that is how the firewall works, but if anyone else does please leave a comment.
What kind of firewall does this need? The standard way for a firewall to talk to a SOCKS server would be using HTTP CONNECT to the SOCKS host. With most modern firewall products, this causes problems as the SOCKS session goes out of scope and the end result is that either the Internet connection is lost or the client needs to be relaunched to re-establish the Internet connection. This may break other things if your company firewall relies on having TCP sessions between your machine and the SOCKS server.
