The names of God. Now, we say that the name of God is holy, righteous, almighty, all-seeing, sovereign, eternal. There are many names for God. They're all given in the context of describing the relationship of God with His people, and in many cases they're used to remind us of what we do not have. They remind us that we are sinners, because God cannot bless sinners.
The word "sinner" is not used anywhere in the Bible. You can't find it in the dictionary. But the word "sin" does have a meaning. It is to break the law. It is to turn away from the path of God's love, and so you can't find sin in the Bible, but you can find brokenness. And there's a sense in which the Bible tells us that God is righteous and just. He's almighty and all-seeing, because He sees the future, and yet He still chooses to come into a relationship with sinful people. He doesn't allow His relationship with sinners to become an excuse for allowing those sinners to do whatever they want.
If God is just and righteous, then His love has to be greater than His judgment. And what does love do? It does not leave us in our sins.
