How do I log into WordPress admin?

What is the default WordPress admin login?

The default WordPress login to the admin area is, well, you're logged in.

You don't have to type in a username or password. It is assumed that you are logged in as your site's administrator (admin).

However, if you are not logged in as an admin, then it may be difficult to complete tasks or perform certain functions within the admin interface. In this situation, you may be able to use a plugin that adds a log in as admin link within the admin screen to easily log in with the current user (ie, a user who has not logged in yet).

How do I log in as an admin? The default WordPress login is already used as the current user of your site. If you are not logged in as the current user, then you must enter the username and password associated with the current user. In the following example, I will be logged in as admin, and so my username will be admin. I can then select the menu item Administrator to access the WP admin area.

This is the standard WordPress login screen: This is what the login as screen looks like: As you can see in the above screenshot, my login name is admin. This is where the plugin that allows you to login as admin will allow you to login as the same name.

The advantage of this is that if the user has been logged in as admin, you can click the link and login as that user with the same username. If the user does not remember their username and password, then they can visit the account settings area and choose Create New Account to make a new account for themselves. However, once they have a new account, how do we log in as admin from that point forward? The answer is in the login as screen above. We can enter the new user's username and password to automatically log in as that user.

Why can't I login as admin? There are a couple of reasons why you may be unable to log in as admin. You may not have a password for the admin user.

What is the login URL for WP Admin?

Hi All.

I am trying to use a plugin that requires login to WP Admin and I have all the information required, but it won't work. I have also set in Options>General>Login Page to 'admin-login.php' Now when I type in the domain or subdomain, the login page works fine but when I put in the username/password in the fields I get this error: "Invalid username or password". So I know the username and password are correct. Thanks in advance for any help. Liam. I don't think you can do this with wp-login. That just takes care of logging in through the normal login form. It's really only meant for the front end. The documentation says "Administrator logins only", so I suspect you have to find a way to redirect the user from the admin pages back to a page that can accept their credentials.

In the process, make sure you're sending the right authorization headers.
