Why did Mazey Day turn into a wolf?
A little over a year ago, we met up with the singer-songwriter at her home in Seattle to talk about the music she makes with her partner, Ryan Mazey.
(They live together and are the parents of a baby girl.) The couple was just starting out, so we decided to take the long route home and check in on them againand it turned out that something big had happened while were gone.
When we first met, Mazey told us about how she used to be in a punk band called Mazey Day and now writes songs about things like her struggle with addiction and the importance of family. That last one was personal for her. She came out as transgender in 2024, and even though her music's been making people feel good for almost 20 years, she says she's still learning about her place in the world. I have moments of confusion, she says. Like when I go to the bathroom or when my kid is acting like a toddler.
But after meeting Mazey Day, we knew we wanted to come back and see how they'd gotten through the tough times. At the time, Ryan said the biggest issue he faced was dealing with the fact that Mazey had changed their family's name. He's glad that those struggles are behind them now, but he still has his own. I'm trying to find a way to find a balance where I can be me and at the same time know that I have to do the things I need to do to be a good father, he says. I love my family more than anything. I love my wife, and I love my daughter.
How They've Made It Work. We got to know them as two people who get each otherespecially since their relationship began online and through mutual friends. They became friends in high school and eventually started dating in college. They also wrote and recorded music together for a few years. We put out two albums and kind of broke up, says Mazey. The last one we made was when our daughter was born.
After that album, Mazey Day didn't record much. Ryan had become a father and was working as an engineer at a record label, while Mazey was touring with artists like Beck and Cursive.
What is the point of Mazey Day?
When I was young I went to Mazey Day in London, and I came away with the feeling that it was pointless.
I thought I would share the experience with you. I went with a group of friends, and we had to get up at 5am, because we wanted to be there by 8am. There was a bus that took us to a place called the British Library, where were handed a book called 'A Child's History of England' and told to read it for Mazey Day. It was about the reign of Queen Victoria, so we had to read about that.
We were given a stamp and told to stamp all our books, because the British Library was a charity, so you had to give something back. We were shown a film of Queen Victoria, which was very interesting.
Then went into a building called the Institute for Contemporary Development, where the real Mazey Day was taking place. The place was packed with people, and there were lots of stalls with cakes and biscuits, and sweets and lollies and things.
I went over to one of the stalls and got some tea and biscuits. The thing I found most interesting was that you had to give a 10p to the charity, but I couldn't see the charity, so I wasn't quite sure what they were going to do with it. I bought a badge for 5p and went over to another stall, which was selling badges for the World Peace Prize, but you only got them if you donated 10. So I donated 10, and I got a badge for the World Peace Prize.
The whole point of Mazey Day was that you could choose from a variety of activities. So you could either go and buy a stamp, or you could go and help make a stamp. Or you could go and make a badge for the World Peace Prize.
The World Peace Prize is a big deal. It was in 2024, and we made a badge for the World Peace Prize. So I went and helped make a badge for the World Peace Prize, and the guy who was helping me said that it was a big deal. I felt a bit bad because I had not thought of the prize, and I had not realised that you had to donate 10 to win it.
Is Mazey Day a good episode?
Mazey Day has been a very successful episode.
It was the first one in the series, and it did so well that they made another one soon after, and then another, and so on. They should make a new one each year, and it would be a great idea.
But to be honest, it wasn't the best of the series, by far. The first season was much better than the second, but it was still pretty good.
There were a few things wrong with this one. The first thing is that all the characters are in it. The first one had only four people in it, but this one has all of them, including Mazey himself. This makes it less interesting. I wanted to see what would happen if you tried to kidnap Mazey, and how he would get away. But you didn't see that.
It's also strange that Mazey has a new character, and a lot of new lines. When he first appeared, he had only a few lines, and was just there to give his perspective on the situation. The second time, he was still only a part of the story, but this time he was playing a much bigger role. In the third one, he was the main character. And this time, he's just there as a bystander. He doesn't really have much to do. He doesn't play a very important part in the story, and he's not a very good character. He's just there to be a side character.
The other problem with this one is that it didn't really go anywhere. The first one had an interesting story line, and was full of surprises. It had some good characters, and they had some interesting dialogue. I thought that this one had a similar structure, but it didn't really have much of a plot. I thought that the first one had a plot, but it was pretty simple. There was a plan, but it wasn't very complex.
In the first one, there was a plan, and Mazey was involved in it, but there was a problem. But when the plan failed, he didn't really say anything. He just disappeared. It was the same thing with the second one. It was a plan to get Mazey, but it failed.
