Can I use a VPN with Netflix on Smart TV?

Does NordVPN work with Netflix on TV?

Yes.

However, as stated previously the IP address provided by Netflix is not guaranteed. You can use a computer or mobile device with an IP that is assigned to one of the countries where Netflix and NordVPN are compatible (or on certain VPN providers IPs). If you happen to be visiting the US for example, your IP might be on the list but there's no guarantee since IP addresses are randomly assigned from the pool at any time.

NordVPN doesn't sell US users a license and does not have plans to buy one. It does not include the US market in its customer base. It is a completely different VPN provider to US based NordVPN, so you will have to use their service to get the US Netflix and HBO Now content.

I need help buying/upgrading NordVPN. Here's our best seller for NordVPN: If you're planning to buy it for the first time, our NordVPN setup tutorial will be of great help. For people who have been using it before we've made a comparison article that will help you understand the difference between the 3-year premium plan and 6-month subscription options.

What are my VPN costs? NordVPN is a subscription-based service. There's no contract and you can sign up with a 30-day or 1-year commitment. The annual plan offers many discounts during its lifetime - you can get 50% off if you pay for your subscriptions 12 months in advance.

There's also a 6-month subscription with only half of the price of a 3-year subscription. However, if you decide to cancel your NordVPN subscription after 6 months (or even during it) you'll lose the money you paid for your plan.

Our NordVPN review recommends signing up for a yearly plan and taking advantage of its discounts. You can always cancel your service, but that may require some convincing and it costs a bit more in this case.

Do I get access to NordVPN in other regions? When purchasing your subscription you'll get access to NordVPN servers in 46 countries. Unfortunately, it's only possible to use NordVPN servers while in a supported country.

Can I use a VPN with Netflix on Smart TV?

Hi, I have a Roku 3 and a Smart TV and I'm looking for a good VPN that will work on both.

? It seems that I can't use my VPN on Smart TV. Also it seems that you can't use a VPN on Roku (any recommendations?)

Hello! This is the right place to ask about this but I'm just not sure. I just got an Amazon Fire TV Stick a couple of days ago and started to look for VPNs. I was going to try to use my old Samsung Smart TV, but I found out that this TV doesn't support VPN. So, I'm just using the Fire TV Stick, even though I have no idea what I'm doing.

Now, I have heard about some VPNs working on the Fire Stick, but what's weird is that I have a cable connection to my ISP and this is running a VPN, so why would I need a VPN on my Fire Stick? So, is there a VPN for the Fire Stick? And how do I connect to a VPN with this device? It would be very nice if someone could guide me in the right direction. You can use the following methods to use VPN on Fire Stick : 1- You can set up PPTP/OpenVPN on your Fire Stick. OpenVPN is very easy to setup and it is also supported by many apps like AirVPN.

2- You can use FreeVPN for your Fire Stick. It's very simple and easy to setup on your Fire Stick.

3-You can use VPN services on your Fire Stick . VPN like Private Internet Access is also supported on your Fire Stick. Thank you for your reply! So, I guess I will go with AirVPN. Is there any difference between PPTP/OpenVPN and FreeVPN when connecting to my ISP's connection? What exactly does it mean when I say: "You can use a VPN connection on your Fire Stick"

I assume I can run all these three methods on my Fire Stick simultaneously?
Is it possible to connect to a private Internet Access server in order to use their service? Also, I've read about PPTP/OpenVPN, FreeVPN and Private Internet Access on my Fire Stick. What is different in each of these VPN services?

Why won't NordVPN work with Netflix?

NordVPN works great for most people. It is great for streaming and torrenting. But why can't you watch Netflix on NordVPN? It appears that all of the USA VPN providers either don't allow streaming or are very limiting in the amount of bandwidth they use. I found this annoying, but it is not a huge problem because VPNs are excellent for downloading and torrenting so you can still enjoy this.

I did try to find some information about this issue. And I know you can get streaming with some VPNs (for example using ProtonVPN) but I did not find any more information about this matter.

I would like to help you solve this problem and make it easier for everyone. So here is my suggestion to NordVPN.

How to watch Netflix on NordVPN. The only way I found that NordVPN offers an easy solution to watch Netflix is by using their proxy feature. All you need to do is to set up the proxy settings. The instructions are here:

It is easy and it does work. But you need to make sure to change the address because otherwise the proxy settings will not be saved. So I used the following steps:

Choose NordVPN Settings. Choose Proxy Server. Use the box labeled New Proxy. Click on Apply. The proxy server address is now set. But it works. But it does not work for all streaming sites, unfortunately.

There is a workaround to get it to work with other sites like Netflix. If you want to use it make sure to save the proxy settings. The settings will only work if you change the address to your actual IP address.

Here is an example: This means you will be routed through a special server which belongs to NordVPN and then will leave NordVPN again. This has the effect that you will be routed directly to the actual IP address of the site that you are trying to access.

The IP address will still be shown as United States but this is just for the sake of the test.

Is Netflix blocking VPNs?

It has been confirmed to us that the new Netflix on the PS4 will be region locked when it launches.

This means that when you are watching Netflix on your PS4 in the US or UK it will be inaccessible to you if you live in Canada or other countries outside of North America. This is because the Netflix content library for each region differs. You can access Netflix content in a different region by using a VPN service that allows you to tunnel your internet traffic through an alternate network. This is possible, as long as you stay on the same region as your ISP and the VPN you are using.

Are there any VPN providers that can bypass Netflix's region lock? Yes, but you should be aware that there is a trade off here and you will need to weigh up the benefits and drawbacks of VPN usage against using Netflix. VPNs are not legal and many people will frown upon this, particularly those who work in the entertainment industry. However, we have tested hundreds of VPNs over the past few years and have found that many of the best VPN services allow their customers to bypass region locks. There are some companies however, that do not allow VPN usage, this is mainly for their own security purposes, however, it does mean you are able to use Netflix on a region specific basis.

Do I need to use a VPN for Netflix to work? Not all VPNs allow bypassing region locks. A lot of the top VPN services do and many have an automated system that keeps you on the same region you are currently on. However, some services will detect that you are on a region different to your ISP and will then disable the streaming or prevent it from working at all. If you are using a VPN then you will most likely get by without any issues.

If you are not using a VPN then there are a few different methods to bypass Netflix's region lock. Method 1: Change your IP address to be on a different region. If you have a static IP, you can change your IP address to the region that you wish to watch Netflix in and you will be on the same region as your ISP. Using this method will not get you around the Netflix's region lock, but it will enable you to bypass the Netflix blocking on the PS4.
