What month do you plant camellias?

How big do early wonder camellias get?

Just a note to explain this new thing.

You have asked about what a camellia looks like in bud. I am not very good at naming trees, but if you google 'blue beauty' you should find camellia info and probably a couple of pics. There are several different kinds of camellias in floriculture: they are large shrubs or small trees; some are very pretty and some very big; the species can be white, rose, black, pink, red, or brown/gray.

Here's my favorite (if it were real it would be on my front porch), which I saw in a nursery many years ago: What makes that different is that it's so very young. Its growth is from last year's branch to this year's bud. The topmost branch has not yet begun to form buds - it is a small, bare branch. This particular specimen is growing well in our zone 7 (5b) area.

Mostly, it grows for me as an arch over my driveway (which gets more shade than sun, so I don't recommend that as a camellia's main location). There, it just does fine.

But I also think I've learned some things about how to propagate camellias from reading and talking to people who do it. If your climate is hot like we have had the last few summers, it might not be such a good choice for you - in fact, I don't recommend growing these in full sun. But if you want to take cuttings from your camellia, or have it flower, give it light shade all summer long. Then, in the winter, give it shade all through January, February, and March. Come spring, it will flower. After it flowers, let it get about 6 tall before it begins to die back for next year's flower stalk. Next, let it dry out a little in a sunny spot. Then, you can dig it up, trim off dead leaves and such, and plant it for a new flower stalk.

My first cutting was about two years after I bought it. I only had a very short stem that I dug, so I used one that had some larger older side branches that made it easy to hold.

What month do you plant camellias?

March to November.

Do you need to buy pruners? No, but it's a good idea to have some on hand. How tall are they? We usually plant them in 5 gallon containers. They grow up to 5-6 feet tall, and are trained to a ball or a "chandelier" style.

Where do you plant camellias? Most of our trees are planted in 4-5 gallon containers. We recommend planting in the fall.

What size container should I use? We recommend using a 4-5 gallon container. How many plants should I plant? We recommend planting 4-5 plants per container. Will my tree get roots on the bottom of the container? Yes. The roots will grow down, along the sides of the container.

What can I do to help my tree survive the winter? Keep your containers at least 6 inches from the ground. Keep the soil cool by placing your containers in the shade. If you have to water your plants, only water the top half of the container.

Will my tree survive a fire? Yes, but not without severe damage. Trees that are over-watered, over-fertilized, and/or under-watered, and/or that are not well-pruned can be more prone to fire damage.

Do some camellias bloom twice a year?

Hi all.

I have a camellia tree and am wondering if it will bloom twice a year. My camellia is blooming now but I know it's not done yet. So far I have only seen one small flower on the tree. Should I be concerned about this? I would like to get some new plants but I don't want to get the wrong ones. I would like to plant a camellia which blooms two times a year. Is it possible to get this kind of camellia?
I have a camellia that blooms only once a year and it is usually in April. The flowers are small, but they do bloom twice. Just make sure you get a new bulb before the leaves appear, or it will look odd. If it is really only one bloom, then just enjoy it while it lasts.

We have a single blooming camellia that blooms in June/July. It takes a couple years to bloom. I think it blooms more in the fall. It's been blooming for a few years now, but only one time per year.

Well, I am in the same boat. I have a camellia tree that blooms once per year. I don't know if it blooms from the beginning of the season till November or the beginning of December till April. I don't know, but I think I have seen it a few times. It will be hard for me to get a new camellia that blooms twice a year. It will probably be a while before I get another camellia.

I think this is the first year it has ever bloomed and it bloomed only one time. I am trying to find a good camellia to buy. I am in Australia. I would like to get a camellia that bloom twice a year.

What's the temperature in your area, btw? I'm in Melbourne, and it's pretty warm here at the moment.

How many times a year do camellias bloom?

(I'll take a crack at that myself, but won't get to it until spring, so I'll leave it for the experts.)

I like it, and I don't care what anyones thoughts are of who the creator of the language is. What's all the fuss about? People love their pets so much that they'll go as far as to create their own languages. If you find something that appeals to you, then good for you, but if you have no idea what you're talking about, then just stop right there. You've done nothing other than express an opinion.

Also, you are in very serious need of getting better at reading and comprehension. A bit of a nitpick, but it does make you look less intelligent.

Yes, the creator of the language is called "Creator", just as the creator of the dog, cat, or any other domestic animal is called "Creator". I'm not really too worried about how people treat it though, I'm more curious about how it works. I'm pretty sure it's going to be a simple command structure, like C.

It's just a hobby that I'm into. Nothing more.

People who actually like programming languages tend to love them more than people who are interested in cats. That doesn't make the former intelligent and the latter unintelligent.
