How to access camera with DDNS?

How can I view my camera remotely?

I have a Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ8 camera.

I recently had to get it repaired at the local camera shop and while they were working on it, I decided to grab my camera and take it out for some photo shooting while they were working. However, when I plugged it into my computer via USB, the camera is not viewable in any way. I've tried several different ways to get it to view on my computer:

Download the newest version of the free software that comes with my camera (it's called "Camera Viewer" but it has a bunch of updates from firmware 3.00 to 3.09)

Download "Simple Picture". Download "Photo Viewer". Download "ViewMyLab". I've done each of these in one or more methods, to no avail. My camera is listed as an "Access Point," but it doesn't show up in any of these programs. All of these programs are free, and none of them recognize my camera. How do I get my camera to be seen on my computer?
