How fast is the WIFI on Asus RT-AX3000?

Asus RT-AX3000.

I'm looking to buy a new wireless router for my home, and I've been looking at the Asus RT-AX3000. It has 802.11g WIFI, and supports WPS, and as far as I can tell it works with other manufacturers routers as well. How fast is the internet connection that it offers? I'm only looking for an estimate, as I don't really want to spend more than I have to.

The best answer I can give you is that it will depend on your distance from the router, and your house/home wiring. There is no way to know exactly how fast it will be in your specific situation.

If you do buy this product, make sure that it comes with a minimum 2.4 Ghz model. That is the only one that supports gigabit speeds.

If you have any other questions, please ask them. Guest. It's not a wireless router, it's a modem/router. When you go to the router selection, select the modem/router tab and it will tell you which band (or channels) are compatible.

I've bought two of these (as opposed to "dumb" routers) and have found the speed to be good. The only issue is that they need a USB 3.0 port to work. Not a deal breaker, but if you're planning on running a video projector or something that requires the speed, then it's a problem. When you go to the router selection, select the modem/router tab and it will tell you which band (or channels) are compatible.

Is Asus RT AX58U the same as AX3000?

I've got the AX3000 with its excellent keyboard, but now want a new netbook and am seriously considering the Asus RT AX58U.

Can anyone say if it's worth getting for the price or should I keep my other box? Will it be easy to upgrade the RAM in the AX58U? Is it worth getting the RT/AC701 (the version that has the keyboard) to see if it's worth upgrading the RAM on that one? I'm just afraid of buying a low RAM laptop, then not be able to use that keyboard.

I have both, so I can't tell you which is better, but the Asus version is definitely a better machine overall. That's from my personal experience though.

I would get a separate keyboard if you can find a decent one on ebay, so you don't have to keep your old one. I would also consider upgrading to a dual core processor. The RT uses an AMD A6-3420M APU, and it's pretty weak.

You can always try both out at the store or online, but there are definitely some drawbacks to the Rt, mostly from a compatibility standpoint. If you don't have a 3rd party sound card, the system will be limited to using a generic PC speaker that lacks high quality surround capability. You won't be able to play high quality movies or other things that use high quality audio like a video game.

Asus had quite a big issue in the UK last year about the Asus 1005HA-TX1 keyboard, which is still available, and it's also been known to have a few issues in relation to the wifi connectivity, and that is all covered in the manual. The AX58U is much more stable in terms of reliability. I would not say that the Asus models are perfect, but they are solid and more stable than the RT models. Also as for the RAM question, I've had 4GB DDR2 memory on the Rt AX58U and it doesn't seem to be a problem. As you get to 2 GB, you need to really pay attention to the requirements, and if you are running a dual core, it is going to be a good idea to make sure that you're getting a 2x2 GB model. I would recommend checking this before you buy.

Does the ASUS AX3000 need a modem?

I am looking to purchase the AX3000, but will it be able to work wirelessly with my laptop as I do not have a modem?

Answer: The AX3000 does not need a modem as it can connect to a laptop without the need for a modem. It works without the need of a cellular connection. The main disadvantage of wireless internet on a laptop is that you cannot change networks and you can't have any security to your network. When using the AX3000, you need to be careful not to lose your phone at the same time as you are away from the house. Using the AX3000 you can download apps from the store (apps market) and listen to music and video from the cloud.
