How do I setup my NETGEAR router as an access point?
My router is NETGEAR FSM2220SFP.
I recently setup WPA3 security with a NETGEAR router. It took me a bit longer to get this working and it was less intuitive but in the end everything worked as expected. Here is a brief overview:
Configure the router as a client, don't choose "access point" or something else. (Not needed in my case) Set the SSID as desired. Connect to the router over WiFi and set your preferred encryption method, I selected a WPA3 password. Go to the main screen where you will find options for the AP settings. From the Network tab, select "WiFi Protected Setup" (WPS), then set the passphrase to the password you just typed. If the options do not pop up, make sure your wireless device supports these advanced features.
What is NETGEAR C6250?
The NETGEAR C6250 is a powerful WiFi router for providing wireless home network connectivity.
It provides five Ethernet ports, and its powerful 3 X 1 Gbps antennas enable it to work well with a large number of devices, ensuring an easy setup.
Read our in-depth review of the Netgear C6250 wireless router. The new NETGEAR C6250 wireless router has two gigabit Ethernet ports which make it a popular choice among those with multiple devices on their network. But is it a bargain buy or a waste of cash?

Wireless Router Setup - The C6250 is a simple setup with all the settings pre-saved in the cloud. All you need is your user credentials, as there is no local configuring of the device.
Setting up a WiFi network is fast and painless. Simply connect one end to the modem and the other end to your device. You have to have a cable connected between the router and the modem to power it. You can do this by plugging it to a wall socket with an outlet or through a power source that has the WAN (Wireless Access Network) port.
Once all connections are made, log in to the Netgear WiFi App and follow the set-up steps on the page. Make sure you keep your user credentials secure. This is especially important if you are connecting this WiFi router to a public hotspot.
When everything is set up and you are connected to the Internet, you will be able to see the device status. You can check the remaining data transfer speed, firmware version and other details.
How fast is c62501nas?
Does it match real-world performance?
If not, why? And if so, which of the above should I get? I've looked around and a lot of recommendations seem to just say "get it now," but I'm curious what sort of performance you're all seeing. Thanks in advance for any input. I'm running 4x 4200rpm 6GB ram with sata drive in raid 0 and it's faster than winxp pro on the same machine. It's faster than my mac, faster than my xbox, faster than my ps3 and most importantly faster than my linux box. All windows games will run faster than on a mac and even some of them look better. That's why I don't understand why people want to use microsoft for what they do.
This is the most expensive piece of hardware I have ever bought as I never bought any windows pc's before. You get what you pay for. If I have to have a mac and I want more speed then I would have bought a mac instead of an Acer laptop with a windows preinstalled on it.
You might be faster than a pc but you still won't do anything with it other than surf the web. That may be true, but many people are not as capable or as "serious" about their hobby as you are. I don't think you can compare apples to oranges; one is optimized for a specific purpose, the other isn't. The cost difference isn't important to me (except, of course, in the context of this thread).
And then there is the issue that the vast majority of our PC's today are built around a CPU that is 5-10 years old. There has been a LOT of progress, which is apparent even from an amateur's perspective; not so much from an end user.
