Does chromecast with Google TV support VPN?

I bought one of them to see if it will work.

It has dual band wifi and it works very well at a distance, even the Chromecast does but not quite as well as it's wifi range is a bit short.

I'm trying to run a VPN on it and have had some limited success with OpenVPN but I need to be able to use a PPTP VPN because my provider uses it. You can read more about my OpenVPN setup here. The best solution I've found for Chrome OS is this, but I think I can get it to work on Android/Windows/Chromecast. But I'm wondering if I can use Google TV to connect to a PPTP VPN through my LAN. My router is behind a firewall (my VPN server is not) so I need to do something special to let Google TV send and receive PPTP traffic.

Is there any sort of configuration I can do on Google TV to make this possible? My first thought was a VPN client on the device and that will work fine but it's going to require someone to actually set it up and I'd rather not have a new user for this purpose. My second thought was to go through my home network and set it up as a PPTP VPN server but I'm not sure how to do this. I've considered it but I really want to stay clear of any kind of custom build for now. I want to find a VPN that I can install on my phone/tablet/Chromecast without too much effort and be happy with it.

Anyone have any experience with this? EDIT: Also, when I try to configure the VPN on the Google TV I get "We're sorry, we are unable to log you in". EDIT 2: Also, I tried manually connecting my google TV to my WiFi router and it worked fine. I don't know why but it works fine and my PC says "connected to my VPN" and I am able to browse the internet without it affecting anything.

EDIT 3: I can't even connect to the VPN on my Android phone from Google TV which makes me think it's an issue with my home network or my phone itself. EDIT 4: Here's a screenshot of the error. So it appears there is a problem with the VPN on the chromecast or my router.
