Stremio is a streaming app which lets you stream movies, music and television shows from your PC directly to your Android tablet or phone.

The app was released in the Google Play Store at the end of June, and after installing it on my Samsung Galaxy S2 I quickly discovered that the app doesn't work as advertised. I downloaded the free version of Stremio, because I thought it was just meant for Android tablets or Android phones. After launching the app on my Samsung Galaxy S2, nothing happened. The screen just went blank and I couldn't access the app anymore.

I decided to have a look at the website and read up on it, but there were so many things I didn't understand. As I'm not a techie person at all, I had no idea how to make the app work on my Android device, so I phoned up the Stremio support team. Luckily, they answered quickly and patiently and guided me through some steps which allowed me to download and install Stremio on my Android tablet.

I used an email from within my Google Apps account, but you can also use a Gmail or Hotmail address. Here's what you need to do: Get the latest version of Stremio for Android (4.7.0) from the Google Play Store:

Open up Stremio, and go to the Settings menu. In the General tab, tap on the Version drop down. Choose Update automatically. If you get a pop-up window which says that the app has been updated, tap on the OK button. This is to download the latest version of Stremio.

The next step is to download the app from the Google Play Store, which is the only way you can update the app on your tablet. So, open up Google Play and search for Stremio. Once the app is found, tap on it to install it.

At the bottom, you should see the option to Install. Tap on this and then tap on the OK button.
