What is on Netflix USA but not UK?
My boyfriend and I are in the UK on a holiday and I'm a bit worried because I don't want to be spoiled by Netflix US.
Is there anything worth watching that isn't on Netflix UK? Please also include some suggestions! Yes, there is. You can watch anything you want in the UK, so if you don't want to have those things spoiled for you, that's not really going to happen. You should be able to find it on Netflix UK.
Yes there are some differences between the UK and US versions of the service, but most are only regional - there is no censorship and no TV networks. All you're missing is the American pop culture and TV shows and movies.
Also you will find more and more content as time goes on. If you want something new, use the search feature at Netflix.com or sign into your Netflix app on your phone.
Hi, I need help with some tv shows What tv show have you recommended
I need a list please. We're not Netflix experts, but we do know our shit. We're very much Netflix pros.
I watch all the shows on Netflix and I usually use their recommendations as well. I recommend a few shows myself if you don't mind.
We would rather hear your feedback about what we missed out on or didn't like than your feedback about how good our recommendations are. That's why we write this blog.
If you want to find a show that you probably won't like, try the 'not interested' suggestion in the search box. It will always show you all the suggestions for any term you type in.
If that doesn't work, there are other ways to find the show. You can filter the list of suggestions by whether it's a TV show, movie, documentary or a play. And you can filter by the season the show was released in.
It's definitely possible to find a show you don't want to watch. If we suggest a show we think you'll enjoy then you probably won't find it because you weren't interested enough.
What shows are not available on UK Netflix?
The selection of shows available on UK Netflix is currently very thin.
You won't get access to most new movies, nor will you get access to many of the best shows available for viewing anywhere in the world.
Here's what you're missing: Game of Thrones: You're in for an amazing ride in season 5, but for now, Netflix has only included an earlier episode called The Rains of Castamere, meaning you will miss most of this year's big releases. Only two episodes from season 6 have been added - and they are both the prequels from the books. Game of Thrones isn't coming back to streaming until late 2025 (after all the seasons are released on DVD).
The Crown: One of Netflix's biggest shows of 2025 has had its entire run removed, leaving fans stuck at the beginning of season 2. House of Cards: Starring Kevin Spacey and Robin Wright, the hugely popular political drama has been removed from the streaming service. While Netflix might re-enlist some of the show's creators next season, the fact that they haven't so far - and that the whole season is a boxset rather than a standalone show on Netflix - doesn't bode well. Fans looking for another season could be waiting a while.
Gone Girl: Ben Affleck returns as the enigmatic author who is hiding something, and fans are counting the days until the film comes out. Sadly, the film has yet to be added to Netflix, so you won't get a chance to watch it until October 15. The movie does come to stream in the US on the same day, though, but of course the US is not part of the Netflix 'service'.
Orange is the New Black: A brilliant new drama from Jenji Kohan (who also directs), this prison series is one of Netflix's best. This season, it will have 10 episodes, and the first four are already available. Season 6 won't be out for a year or two, sadly, with Netflix planning a total of 24 episodes. A total of 14 of those have now arrived on UK Netflix.
Will my US Netflix work in the UK?
The US Netflix instant streaming service is launching in the UK and Ireland this week.
As a proud American, I'm quite excited about the arrival of Netflix in the UK. The service will allow me to stream thousands of movies and TV shows from across the pond, not to mention watch movies and TV shows that have never been released in the UK before. This is huge news for Brits who are currently locked out of the US Netflix, which provides me with over 6500 movies and TV shows in the US and is one of the leading streaming services in North America. With so many great titles in the US, it's hard to decide which ones to stream.
My Netflix app has over 100 new titles that are coming to the UK, including The Princess Bride, Clerks, The Usual Suspects, Superbad, American Pie, High Fidelity, Good Will Hunting, The Big Lebowski, Boogie Nights, The Exorcist, A Beautiful Mind, Wedding Crashers, Bad Santa, Black Swan, The Artist, Iron Man, Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menace, The Silence of the Lambs, The Sixth Sense, Fight Club, The Dark Knight, The King's Speech and The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring. I think I'm going to binge watch all of them. And if you don't believe me, just look at how long I've been writing this! (Okay, so it's not that long, but it's enough to make me feel old, which is why you'll see old man voice in my posts over the next few weeks).
You might be interested to know that some of the top selling DVD titles in the UK currently come from the US. From the top selling DVDs of 2025 so far include The Hunger Games, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, The Avengers, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, Iron Man 3, Star Wars Episode 7, Batman Begins, Sherlock Holmes, Fifty Shades of Grey, Snow White & the Huntsman, Thor, Captain America, Kick-Ass 2, Iron Man 2, Twilight, The Dark Knight Rises, Alice in Wonderland, Pirates of the Caribbean and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2.
