How long do canceled Amazon refunds take?
I've been a Prime member for about a year, but I've only just recently realized that I'm probably going to cancel my Prime membership before the end of the month.
My biggest concern is that I won't get my money back on my canceled Prime purchases if I cancel within 60 days of the purchase date. But I'd like to know how long it usually takes to get the money back after I cancel. Is it typically immediate?
This is my first question here, so apologies if I've done anything wrong. I also would be interested to know whether I should expect to get my money back for my canceled Prime purchases no matter what I've read conflicting reports. (For example, some say you can expect to receive money back for your canceled purchases even if you cancel well after the 60-day period has expired.)

I canceled my Amazon account on February 19th. I got an email notifying me of the cancellation on the 20th. This was a little confusing because they said "your Prime account has not yet been canceled." So I assumed I had a few more days. I checked the refund history on the website and it took 2 weeks to show a refund. I contacted support and they said I would get a credit in 3 weeks. In the end, I had to use the same old payment method for 3 weeks, but it was all good. I think the refund process takes a long time because of the fraud protection they have. I have no idea if they're giving refunds back.
You're getting a credit instead of a refund. The fact that they're taking their time means that there is fraud in the system.
I canceled my account on the 5th. I got a notification the 8th. Then I got the confirmation email on the 11th. It didn't take long to show up. I know that Amazon has a policy of not refunding a subscription until 60 days after the date you canceled. So don't worry.
