Why won't my phone let me open links?
I have a Nokia Lumia 925 and it's been a problem for a few months now.
When I click on a link on a site it will open in the browser but not in the application. If I double click the link it will open in the browser but not in the application. I can open the browser, then close it and then open the application and it will open up all the pages just fine. So I know it's not a browser problem.
The problem was in Windows 8.1.
After switching back to Windows 8.0 the problem has disappeared.
Why can't I open links in Gmail?
I use Firefox to browse the web.
I use the Google Chrome (not Chromium) browser on my Android phone. I use Gmail as my primary email client.
How can I make it so that when I click on a link in an email, it opens in the Google Chrome browser on my Android phone, instead of Gmail? Is there a simple fix? I found out why this happens. When I click on a link in a Gmail mail, it doesn't go to the browser. But when I click on the link in a different mail application, like my Facebook app, it goes to the browser.
The problem is that in Gmail, clicking on a link uses the Google Chrome browser to open up the URL, not the browser that I clicked the link in originally.
How do I enable links on my Android?
When I connect my Android (Lollipop 5.0.1) to a router (Linksys, model WRT841N) which is running Tomato and I enable links in the control panel for both devices (it's a 3G connection), sometimes when I click on an external link on my phone, it opens Google's search bar instead. If I turn off links on Tomato and leave them off on the Android, the links will open normally and show like they should on the web (ie without going to the search bar). How do I fix this? I have the same issue with Chrome (both mobile and on desktop).
I've been having issues lately with links with Google not working properly. I've found it helps if I do the following on the router: 1) Go to advanced settings then enable WAN setting 2) Uncheck the automatic DHCP, 3) Make sure no IPv4 addresses have been assigned and 4) Turn of WPS I tried the above and I still had no luck, after following the instructions on the linksys support site and all that was left to do was turn off the wireless security. Unfortunately I had to reboot to get back online so I'm currently working off of the last wifi attempt which has left me unable to use links at the moment. Anyone have any more suggestions for how to fix this?

I've come to learn more and more that I'll end up doing something similar since I can connect most devices to my WiFi now, but most things don't work. This has worked for everything else, and is much less pain than trying to figure out another method (though I haven't done that for the Droid, for instance, as I said before).
Is there an easier way to set up a local WiFi server that I don't know about or am I pretty close to being stuck with this method for a while?
