They love to use their phones for so many things, from playing games to texting. And they love to use their phones to help them focus on homework.

When I notice them using their phones for an extended period of time, I will set a timer on my phone. I'll start it as soon as I see them reaching for their phones. I then count down every 20 minutes until the timer goes off.

When they get to the 20-minute mark, they stop using their phones and they work on their homework. This method works really well for limiting screen time. The problem is, sometimes it's hard to notice when your kids are using their phones. So, what do you do if you notice them using their phones?

Set a timer for every hour. Instead of setting a timer for every 20 minutes, you can set a timer for every hour. The reason for doing this is because when you set a timer for 20 minutes, your kids may stop using their phones right before the 20-minute mark.

That means you won't know how long they spent on their phones. You may be surprised by how long they spent on their phones. If you set a timer for an hour, you'll be able to track how much time they spend on their phones.

You can start the timer as soon as you notice your kids reaching for their phones. This method also works really well for limiting screen time. But the problem is, it may be hard to notice when your kids are using their phones.
