How do I turn off screen lock?
How can I turn off screen lock on my Moto G2?
Every time I go into my settings to try and find the option, nothing shows up. The same thing is happening with all phones on the network. I have the option set so that it locks the screen after a long period of time, but if I forget to check it in the middle of the night, and go back to check for the next morning, it is locked. The display is fine when I turn it back on, but that is the only time I have no problems. Also, I think I used to be able to turn it off by pressing the menu button while on the lock screen. Now it just goes back to the lock screen.
Thanks so much for your quick response! I was worried I broke my phone! So glad I can use it again. Thats awesome! The other thing I want to be able to do is disable apps that I do not use. I hate how most Android apps make you give permission to use certain things, like location.
When I first got this phone I never used the Google assistant or voice dictation. I disabled all apps and data usage that were using any type of voice features. It is very frustrating that I am forced to pay extra to even turn off the most useless features on the phone!
How do I find my lock screen password?
If you forget your lock screen password, a process known as unlocking begins, which uses the system key to decrypt your data and allow you to access it.
You can unlock your phone while it's locked, and have it wake up when you're on your next unlock.
Start by turning off all your security functions. You can use Android Security Setup or Google Lock Screen Manager app to do this (see How to Enable Security Features on a Locked Phone for more info). Then restart the Android system.
If you're using an older version of Android (before 6.0), your device will start the unlocking process automatically after it has been powered down for a time period. On Android 6.0, you can unlock it manually at any time by opening Settings > User Interface > Screen Timeout and pressing Lock screen time out. When you lock the device after it has been unlocked, it will continue the unlocking process.
On a recent version of Android, you will find the lock screen password on a separate page called Settings > User Interface > Lock screen. If you don't remember your lock screen password, you can recover it using the Recover Data option on your Android. You'll be prompted to connect your device to a computer, as long as the device is plugged in. Once you've entered your Google account credentials, the information you requested will be sent to your device via Google Drive.
How do I restore my factory defaults? Android devices are usually restored to a Factory default settings which should take around 15 minutes. If there are issues with the restore, the device will flash its last updated OTA update if you can access it.
If that's not enough, Android devices are usually rooted and installed with Clockworkmod Recovery from the SD card. ClockworkMod Recovery doesn't need to be installed but requires an active Internet connection while installing.
If you already have an installed backup or want to recover your data, you can do it manually. To reset your settings to their factory defaults, follow the steps below: Step 1). Open the Android system settings menu from the Home screen of your Android device.
