How long does muscle scraping take to work?
Does it need to be washed out?
I am having a problem which I have read many pages on for solutions but nothing is clear so any help would be appreciated. Last month my dog has been diagnosed with FIP. She is eating well, playing and sleeping normally. However all her muscles have been swollen the last few days so very sore. The vet has cleaned the skin off of all of them. We put superglue over the wounds to hold it while it healed. Now she seems better except for 2 muscle sites (the ones that were scraped off) where it's still very tender and painful. There are small scabs under the scabs, I will clean these today if you don't mind. The vet told me muscle scraping was the best way to treat her.
The problem is that when I scrape the skin it hurts the dogs legs and pulls on her muscles leaving ugly scars and causing more pain and swelling. My mom tried putting ice on the areas which helped for awhile but not longer. Is there any way to make it stop itching and hurting and healing properly without causing an infection? The worst day she looked fine except for this issue so no infection. She does not have the ability to speak and only understands our voices. My sister gave me a list of things to try but I am not sure what to do next.
Does muscle scraping take time to heal? Should I keep giving ice? Do you need to wash it with alcohol? Do you need to keep it covered with aloe? How long does it take to get soft again? She keeps licking at it trying to soothe herself but when I am done with it she feels like it is hurting her worse. I have read that it's best to leave the scraped skin alone. I feel like this may be affecting her health worse than it would if she was playing and running around. Any help would be appreciated.
This Answer. Muscle scraping should take only minutes because you're just removing dead muscle fibers. If it still hurts, you may want to use a bandage until it heals. It shouldn't be covered in a protective layer that allows bacteria to penetrate, like a bandage.
Hello. If it was normal muscle tissue it should be healed within 4 to 6 weeks.
What are the side effects of muscle scraping?
I've had the scraping done and have a large scar.
It's painful to look at, but it healed very well.
The scar is on my back, but I don't think it will be that noticeable. However, I do have a pretty large one on my left shoulder and I have to wear a big long-sleeved shirt to hide it. The surgeon said that after a couple of months it will be covered by my skin.
Quoting: Anonymous Coward 10897082. I'm sorry to hear that you're having to deal with it. What area was your scar removed from? I don't think I'd mind having a little one.
It was the lower back area. The one on my shoulder was not my own. It was part of a tattoo that I had as a young girl. The tattoo was done on the back of my arm and had to be cut out and I had a large scar there.
Do muscle scraping tools work?
According to this link, they do work.
However, I'm not sure if they are really worth it.
The Muscle Scraping Tool (MST) is an easy-to-use tool that provides a. clean cut and less damage than a knife. MSTs are often used in meat processing where they are used to remove the muscle that was previously. scraped with a knife. MSTs are especially useful in a high-speed environment, such as an. abattoir, where it may be necessary to minimize the amount of damage to. the muscle fibers. The question is how much damage a tool does, and what tools there are for that. You don't need any tool for scraping with your fingers. There is also a lot of tools for cleaning, some of them are described in the links given in other answers.
For cleaning and scraping I have three suggestions, which all come from experience: The hand. The fork. The knife. I just wanted to add to this thread a bit more, because this answer is getting fairly old and doesn't have a great answer for most. There's an inexpensive plastic tool called a "scraping knife". I got mine at my local grocery store (I did not research this tool, so I am not sure about its exact name), but here is the description from my local store: Knife with flexible and retractable wire bristles one side for. My experience is that this tool is better than anything else out there. I use it in my kitchen for cleaning food and dishes, and it does a great job. It's small, cheap, easily available, and works great.
Can you muscle scrape yourself?
And sometimes I just said, Yes.
This is me with blood in the back of my neck and behind my ears and on my elbows and in my eye. The back of my neck has got a hole in it that is big enough to stick a finger through and it was bleeding down my neck. A lot of people think there are scars from these wounds, and they're not. But I get scared sometimes to be in the water for that reason.
Is there anything about being an amputee that you like? I think one thing about it is that now I have new limbs. And they're not normal limbs, I want to say. They don't look good. But being able to have hands is really cool. I can go grab and hold the bars or play guitar with them. The other thing is that I can walk again without wearing a leg, so that's really neat because I didn't get to do that before.
You can hear that on Oooh Yeah. You kind of take all this stuff that comes with being amputee like having a leg instead of two legs or a hip instead of a leg and you turn that into something positive, you know? Because being a musician and being a songwriter means never having to be too sad or having to feel sorry for yourself. I am grateful that I am able to put that in. I'm glad I was in that accident, and everything turned out OK.
There's a thing where I felt like I was saying: I'm not gonna have bad days anymore. I didn't talk about that so much of this project, but I'm happy to announce I'm not giving up at all.
And I think a lot of times people want to quit and give up and I think we need to remind ourselves every day that we don't have to give up. I wrote this song a long time ago about myself the way I was at that point in my life when I was going through a difficult time, and this was a song that helped me get through it.
