How do I add Brave Search to Chrome?

- A Simple Way

If you already use Brave, the first time you go to a new site in Chrome, you'll be taken to a Google search page to start your search.

This can be very useful if you're just browsing, but it may not be exactly what you want if you're specifically looking for information on the new site. Brave's Brave Search feature makes searching the Web directly from the tab bar possible by adding a search box to the right-side of the browser. It's designed for those who want to find content quickly without having to leave their page.

Brave has a new feature for the Web called "Brave Search." Once you get used to it, searching the Web without having to leave the tab is an easy, useful way to go about browsing the web. This article will cover how to add Brave Search to Chrome, and show you how it works.

To add the search box to Chrome, follow these steps: Click the X icon in the upper-right corner of the browser, as shown below. Click the cog in the upper-left corner, as shown below. In the "More Settings" screen, as shown below, click "Search Settings" in the center, as shown below. On the "Search Settings" screen, click the drop-down arrow next to "Use Brave Search" as shown below. In the window that opens, check the box next to "When Brave is set as the default search engine for the browser" as shown below. Click "Save Changes" at the bottom of the window as shown below. That's it! Now you've got a working search bar for your favorite sites when using Chrome. Note that this feature is only available in the latest version of Chrome (stable channel release 64.0.3282.143, build 5a6dfac). You can find it by browsing to chrome://flags in the address bar and looking for "Search" under Search tab. If you want to try the latest build of Chrome before trying to install the extension, you can use an app like Canary.

Using Brave Search. You now have the option to search directly from the tab bar when using the Chrome browser. Let's show you how it works.

How do I install Brave on Chrome?

My question concerns the Brave browser, which is currently installed on my Windows laptop running Chrome, but my main PC uses Firefox and I would like to use Brave with it, too.

I want to install it in a safe way for all of my devices and browsers: the browser should support them all, regardless of the user settings (such as browser preference). How do I install Brave in this case?

On both Windows and Mac one option to run multiple instances of browsers is to create multiple shortcuts for those browsers. The easiest and safest way to achieve this is to create shortcuts for browsers and launch the browser with parameters (--window-type command line switches). This will work in conjunction with your settings (if any) to decide which instance of the browser should be opened each time you start it.

I have a lot of browsers installed and run them all in parallel like so: C:WindowsSystem32> start chrome.exe --commandline --new-window --app="C:Program FilesGoogleChromeApplicationchrome.exe"
C:WindowsSystem32> start firefox.exe --commandline --new-window --app="C:Program FilesMozilla Firefoxfirefox.exe" --browser-args --incognito

If you are running Ubuntu you can also install WINE to use the .exe's through WINE or download a portable version of Chrome/Firefox.
