Why has Google search stopped working on iPhone?
I've noticed that Google search is not working on the latest version of the iPhone.
I get a message "Google search is not available on this device". I'm using version 6.1.2.
When I try to go to it takes me to a page that says I have no search history. But I can click the "View" link and it takes me to my own Google homepage.
Now I have no way of searching for a specific phrase (or even keywords). Is this just a temporary issue or is it a permanent one? I suspect this is a deliberate move by Google because Apple has been very open about its dislike of third party browsers and services. We won't know until they tell us why.
Apple's iPhone is far more dependent on third party browsers and services than Google's Android OS is. Google has the same functionality on their android phones. "we can't guarantee that any of the following will work on your device". Is it really so hard to say "Sorry, we don't have search functionality on your phone"? It's the same as every other site that lists what browsers they work on. And if it isn't compatible with my phone, that's a damn sight better than no browser at all.
Maybe they changed the URL to one of their own servers. Actually I just tried that Google Search, it works perfectly on my iPhone 4 with iOS 6.
How do I reset my Google search on my iPhone?
I have an iPhone that keeps showing me the same search results when I type in the search box.
It's been doing this for months and I can't seem to find a way to reset it.
The answer depends on which iPhone you have. I had to make sure I was on the right model since the models are so similar to one another.
1)If you have an iPhone 5c, go to Settings > Search. 2)If you have an iPhone 5s, go to Settings > General > Search & Location > Reset. 3)If you have an iPhone 6 or later, go to Settings > General > Reset Search app preferences. Hope this helps! Best Regards. Kristin. Thanks for the explanation. This worked perfectly for my phone. When I restarted the phone it went back to normal and has not displayed that bug again.
If you are having a hard time using this method on your iPhone 5, you could try a third party tool called "GoogleSearchFix" by "Zackery". If you go to the App Store and search "Zackery", you will see that GoogleSearchFix has received 4.5 stars from over 200 user reviews.
I have an iPhone 5s and I tried the above solutions but I still couldn't get it to work properly. I reset the search but then it started showing the same search results when I type in the search box. I tried all of the options and nothing worked.
How do I restart the Google app on my iPhone?
The Google app keeps disappearing on my iPhone.
What I want is to get it back. It happens when I open it, or even just when I turn my phone on and there's a new notification in the top right corner. How do I bring this back? I don't need to search for the app; I just want to bring it back. I also want to know what caused this. Does this have something to do with my phone security? How do I find out what caused it?
Thanks. I would do a Reset, which removes all data, including your app, from your device. Then start over.
