I do not understand how you set parental controls on YouTube.

If a user clicks a link to watch a video, they have the choice to watch it normally, get a warning or if they insist to go through with viewing it, they cannot go back. Yet the user can go ahead and view the video as normal.

However this seems to contradict with other sites and services such as netflix and amazon prime. These will give a warning before viewing content such as movies, although that does not mean I have to allow it to happen. How is it possible for something to be watched normally (I assume if I click play) yet then block me from going forward?

The only option offered is the option to disable videos entirely but that still wouldnt stop me from watching them through a link. When I click play it plays the video normally and once I click next it brings up a warning message. Am I understanding this correctly? I guess there would be different types of warnings.
