Can get Netflix on phone but not on TV?
A guide to the new set-top box
The set-top box is the ultimate game changer in video entertainment.
Now you can stream live TV, download new TV shows to watch later, and stream movies and original content over the Internet. On top of that, you can access any programming on a PC, laptop or tablet through your home network, using a dedicated wireless network card or Wi-Fi adapter. This technology comes in a variety of configurations from single devices to multiple boxes linked together using a cable modem to provide internet access or with two boxes sharing an Ethernet network connection. All the hardware components of the set-top box are built by third party manufacturers and we cannot guarantee compatibility with each other.
To use the latest streaming technology, you will need a broadband connection, such as a cable modem or DSL, or a satellite or fiber service. To determine your broadband connection needs, see what's possible on the latest set-top boxes and devices, visit the Technology Requirements Chart on this page. If you're just starting out with streaming technology, check the streaming capabilities of your cable service and any smart TVs, tablets, or laptops you own, then find more information on which channels and services are available and how to access them. Many online streaming providers include channels and programs for free with their membership packages. If not, these may be included on your current cable bill, but we may not yet be able to confirm this.
What's different about these set-top boxes? Netflix offers users a new streaming interface with easy-to-use features to discover and watch content on TVs, connected devices, and computers. Plus, access unlimited movies and TV shows.
When can I stream TV? It depends on what you have. The newest 4K TVs have the ability to stream up to four high-definition sources simultaneously to an existing HDMI port and there is limited access for older 3DTVs that can stream only two sources. So far, only a few models of flat panel TVs from Samsung, LG, Panasonic, Toshiba, and Philips are available to stream live TV and we know of no models that can yet stream three sources.
All televisions are getting better and some models come with built-in Wi-Fi technology, such as the 2025 32-inch Toshiba and 2025 55-inch Panasonic.
How do I reset Netflix on my TV?
What happened to Netlix?
Netflix has some very nice TVs with Netlix built in that will let you sign in with your paystub. You get some nice features and a lot of movies/tv. They are very expensive and I understand why. The last time I used it was very smooth and now I get no where close to my account. It's been about 4 months since I last used it. Can anyone help? Is there a way to fix this problem? I really want to watch the kids TV on Netflix, but I'm scared to use the Netflix that my parents use.
Re: ? I didn't have this problem back when Netflix was on cable. Nowadays, I can access Netlfix on my PC but not on any of my 3 different HTPCs. I have a Netlfix PC at work, another at home and another in the guestroom. The problem is that when I try to connect from any of my HDTVs, I can choose one to use for signing in but then, after connecting, it keeps crashing (my wife keeps watching her shows on her computer) and I am not able to use the Netlfix any other way. It's really frustrating. If someone knows how to solve the problem I would be very grateful. Thanks!
Thanks for all the info everyone! I checked my account and it said I had 3 movies and it gave me a link to my account. I don't have an iPad or phone and since it has nothing to do with those, how do I reset my Netflix on my TV? There's a very annoying, temporary workaround if your tv doesn't offer internet. Download and install the app (it'll take over the netflix sign in and start from a basic set up, then if you sign out on your nintendo account it'll revert it). It seems to work just fine so far. It works a bit better if you're using a Nintendo Wii than with the Wii U because if you sign out of your Netflix account it doesn't remember which content you've viewed.
Why is Netflix not recognizing my TV?
I am new to all of this, and am trying to figure out what is wrong.
I have an LG 4k TV. When I connect it, Netflix says "unable to recognize your device".
The TV is connected to a 4 port HDMI adapter, which connects to my PC. I can also connect a PS4, but not a Roku. When I try to change the input on the TV, nothing happens.
It's worth noting that this started happening just a few weeks ago. My TV is working perfectly fine with my old laptop and my Xbox, so I know it is not a hardware issue. How can I fix this? Thanks! Have you tried resetting your Roku? Try resetting it in the settings under "my device" and then try connecting your TV again.
Why is Netflix no longer compatible with my TV?
What is the Netflix app?
The Netflix app is used on mobile devices like phones, tablets and smart TVs. You can get a free Netflix subscription by clicking here and creating an account. Once you've created your account you can use the app from your device of choice to view or delete titles on Netflix.
What exactly is a Netflix account? The Netflix app relies on what is known as an account for viewing content on devices. A Netflix account lets you log into your account using your unique Netflix username and password at any time. It allows you to see which programmes are playing across different devices on Netflix. You can also add further devices to your account if you wish to.
So what happens when you don't have internet access? If you lose internet access for any reason, you can continue to watch all your content on your Netflix apps until it expires or you cancel your subscription - this could be anytime between 30 days and one year. After the end of your paid subscription the remainder of the unused balance can be carried over to another paid subscription. If you cancel your subscription or your account stops paying, you'll be unable to access Netflix. If you have already cancelled your Netflix subscription then your paid or free account will stop within 24 hours. If you're using paid access you'll be able to watch on your phone for up to 3 months. You'll be able to log into the same account on any other computer, device or media player and continue watching with the same access you had before.
How can I watch Netflix from my TV? Using Netflix on a TV takes a few steps and the features of the Netflix app need to be activated by the TV provider. To make sure that you can use the app on your TV click here.
Why do I need to log in and sign up? You need to be signed up to Netflix and logged in to gain access to content in the UK. To sign up and login click here.
What kind of device can I use to log in? Many people don't realise that the Netflix app has features that are built specifically for smart TVs. These allow you to control the Netflix experience on your TV. Most leading smart TV manufacturers have built this functionality into the TV so that they are able to deliver content to the right devices at the right time.
