Does NordVPN work on mobile devices?

Does NordVPN work on mobile devices?

Is NordVPN the perfect VPN for Android, Mac and Windows?

Read on to see if it is, and whether it has a free version. While browsing at Amazon or other e-commerce sites, you've probably noticed that 'NordVPN Free' is the most searched product. It is because this VPN service offers you unrestricted free usage. That sounds like a dream, isn't it? If you have been researching NordVPN reviews, you'll have noticed how popular the service has become among users, but even a quick glance at the comments of reviews, won't answer your questions. We already knew that NordVPN didn't work on Windows and Mac, but did it work on Android too? No, it doesn't. It works just as well on iOS devices.

How to get a free trial? To try out the service for yourself, and test whether it will replace your current VPN use for your needs, go to NordVPN's official website and sign up there. You will be redirected to a page where you can sign up and use the service. However, this page doesn't specify clearly that it allows for a free 30-day trial of the service, therefore you might have a bad feeling going to it from an uneducated standpoint. That's why we advise against it. Instead, you should simply use a third-party comparison tool to find the best VPN for you.

What if I want to cancel my subscription? Yes, NordVPN does allow you to cancel your subscription with 1 click on the site. There is no need to contact customer service.

The only downside to that method is the 30 days notice. We think that if the VPN service allows cancellation in such a simple manner, the company must have had a reason for doing so.

Are there any fees? Unfortunately, yes. The 30-day free trial requires you to enter a credit card information (name, number, cvv). After this, you won't be able to access the service free of charge.

It's not that big a deal, though. You can always cancel your subscription after the 30 days are up and start over again with your previous subscription.

Does NordVPN use obfuscation?

How is obfuscation used?

The obfuscation technique varies from protocol to protocol. For example, for TCP/IP, the obfuscation is done by randomizing the packet sequence number, byte sequence number and other header fields. For UDP, it is the use of an internal protocol number field. On both, the obfuscation technique changes over time. There is very little published academic work on how VPN is obfuscated.

However, it's worth noting that one of the key reasons to use obfuscation on VPN protocols are for privacy, as in let us encrypt a communication tunnel and we need to anonymize traffic on top of that tunnel. A good example of this is Tor. As mentioned before, when you use the Tor service it uses a VPN protocol by default as their first step to obfuscate what you are doing as well as keep your ISP from listening to your traffic. Many services like the web browser use it also. That was the key feature from it.

One of the reasons a VPN works well as a privacy protecting tool is that we typically don't want anyone to know what we are doing with that data. When the data arrives, this obfuscation comes off of the data. However, it does not protect what were doing on top of that data as it goes through the VPN tunnel.

The obfuscation that can come up in a VPN or proxy is a way to confuse anyone who is looking at your packets as much as possible. So this allows you to have a really great security tool, which is to say when you don't trust an internet provider, but you would still like to maintain a high level of privacy while still getting the benefits of network connectivity.

How do I enable obfuscated servers in NordVPN?

I would like to enable obfuscated servers in NordVPN, however, the help files are a bit vague on this topic.

The only way I managed to enable this feature was to start with an already enabled, non-obfuscated server (since obfuscated servers are not enabled by default) and connect to it. Then, open the server list, switch to obfuscated servers and click "on". All existing IP addresses in my case became invisible.

My question is: how do I enable obfuscated servers? When you're initially setting up a VPN connection, select a Server, then click on Advanced Settings, then on Obfuscation and check the box for Enable Obfuscated Servers. This has been tested on NordVPN 7.1.0, Windows 10.
