And although the service has a ton of stuff, it also cuts to the chase with the top ten releases right away. Not every Netflix movie comes with a critic score, so I didn't add them, leaving the movies rated 4 and under out. Without further ado, the top ten on Netflix as of right now.

The service just released their top 10 list of what is new. The Ballad of Buster Scruggs (Cannes 2020) - No one is going to argue that this isn't a good film. With a great leading man (Harrison Ford), a great directing team, and what I think will be considered a great script in less than 20 years. But we're talking about it ranking on top of Netflix because everyone needs to see it, and since I can be lazy, I figured I'd go for quantity rather than quality in this case.

Unbroken (Cannes 2020) - One of my favorite films from 2024 did not get much attention when it was released. But then later on it became a huge blockbuster hit. This film was almost a total underdog to the film that was nominated for best picture, and it took a while to gain traction with the audiences. Once it got there, it became this great piece of storytelling that deserves more than the audience it was getting when it came out.

American Pastoral (Cannes 2020) - Another one from last year that went completely under the radar. But once it started gaining traction, I think it really proved itself to be a powerful film. It's the most interesting, most compelling directorial debut of the year, and a film that really shows how well a new director could be able to push a material.

The Girl on the Train (Cannes 2020) - This was a much more popular movie in 2024 than this film is this year, so why is it even in this list?
