How to download an app on school iPad?

How do I allow App Store on my kids iPad?

I've recently been searching for apps that are safe for children.

My kids ages 9 & 12 love apps and to be honest I don't know how to moderate them. When I go into the App Store, it has a lot of adult content. Some apps show me a warning when I search. What do I do?

I've just bought a tablet for my youngest, who's 12, and installed it with only the "Safe Mode" setting. He's got apps with games, puzzles, etc, but no porn or other inappropriate content. I did add a "Parental Controls" account, but I'm not sure what to set to "Restrict" and what to set to "Limit" - they are my own devices, so I don't want to limit him too much.

If anyone can help, that would be great. We are happy with an iPad and didn't spend much money on it, so we don't want to over-limit our kids. We're thinking of buying another one in the next few months, but I'd really appreciate some advice before we spend any money on it!

Apple have a page about this which you should read if you're worried about what the kids are downloading onto your iPad. Quote: The following guidelines will help you: If you use a different email address for your child's Apple ID than you use for yourself, make sure you've added this account to your Privacy & Device Management settings on your iPad, as described in Settings. Look for apps that are rated Everyone and only install those that your child has not yet been able to download. You may have to contact the app's developer to change the ratings for the app.

Check that parental controls are enabled, as described in Use Parental Controls. Check to make sure that apps have no option to change the location where they save data. If you want to prevent your child from using this feature, check the app's Privacy & Device Management settings.
