What happens if you delete the App Store on iPad?

I am a complete idiot and forgot to download the latest version of an app I've been using on my iPad.

I can't seem to delete it, but if I delete the App Store, will it keep the app from being updated? Or will it be stuck with the version I have downloaded? Also, what happens if you delete your Apple ID? Is it necessary to create a new one in order to restore it? Thanks! If you don't have any iTunes/iCloud data tied to that app, then you should be fine. You can delete the app from the App Store, as long as you haven't paid for it or downloaded it from any other location. Delete it, close it, then re-open it, and it should ask you if you want to re-download the app. If it doesn't, then you'll have to restore the iPad back to its factory settings (which will remove the app from all devices) and then reinstall it.

You can restore your Apple ID by going into the Settings app on your iPad, tapping "iCloud", and tapping "Restore" on the top right. If you have any apps installed through the App Store, they won't be able to sync because the App Store and iTunes are linked. If you have any other apps installed, you'll have to restore them one at a time. If you have iCloud backup enabled, you'll be able to restore it from there.

Deleting the App Store will not delete your apps. If you want to delete an app, you have to remove it from the App Store, close it, then re-open it.

Why can't I get the app store on my iPad?

Here's the thing.

I've gone into iTunes on my PC, synced it with my iPad. There's no problem syncing songs and such, but I can't seem to get my iPad to let me install apps from the store. It just says "Unable to connect." The connection is working fine, because I can browse the store and buy apps on my PC.

The iPad doesn't work with my broadband router, so I'm plugged into my dad's. He's not using any software right now, so I can't even blame it on that. My iPad's set up to use WiFi only, and I'm using a WiFi-only router.

The router is configured to give out a static IP address. I can connect to my dad's wifi network with no problems (as long as I'm using my laptop).

I have tried resetting my router, which got rid of the 'unable to connect' error for a few seconds, but then back to 'Unable to connect.' This happened in the past, when I was running Windows 7, but not lately. Maybe this was caused by my computer having issues syncing? I don't remember.

So what am I doing wrong? I'm starting to think it's some sort of firewall issue, but I don't know what I'm doing wrong and how to fix it. You said you can browse the App Store on your PC, so you're connecting to your dad's network through your PC. Did you also do this when you were having this problem before? If so, then we need to rule out a network problem.

What is your Internet Service Provider (ISP) name? Does your Dad's Router have parental controls? Is he filtering certain websites (eg Netflix)? My iPad is connected to my Dad's wireless network. I don't have to enter a password or anything. It works great.

And when I try to do the "buy" thing on my iPad, I enter the username and password for my dad's router, and then it doesn't do anything. It just sits there for a few seconds, then says "Unable to connect."

This used to be a recurring problem for me. I finally figured out what was going on.
