How do I pin a timer on my screen?

What is the timer app that shows the end time?

Does anybody have the name of it?

If your primary application is your phone home application then it cannot 'go' anywhere, you can only do stuff in the background or while it is running in the foreground. If you press the home button, it goes back in the background but if you use the 'screen lock' option then it is either running on the foreground with your normal application or is paused with all applications running.

How can you run an operation that locks the phone if it goes back to the standby state. Surely you would have to unlock the phone otherwise there is nowhere to put it. Is this what is meant by a task.

The timer is not for a background app to wake up in the next minute. It allows someone to set the phone off then walk away, so you can tell them that they need to be on during a set time. When they get back their phone will display the message but if they do not arrive within that time, it will call their mobile on their next number.

That's basically what a timer does. But of course if you walk out of the room there's no way to know when you'll come back. That would mean the app must run all the time. There's no way for the user to specify an interval, because the interval could be as short as 1 second.

If Timer does all this nicely, it's a real time saver, but if I recall correctly, the minimum refresh rate is 1 second.
