What is a proxy address for Wi-Fi?
I'm using two computers that have wireless internet. I also use an old modem. The modem is plugged into the computer via an ethernet cable. The computer that does not have internet access (the one with the modem) is just sitting on my desk. I want to make this computer a proxy address for the other computer so it can access the internet without any problems.
How would I go about doing this? I thought about using TeamViewer but the modem port would have to be a serial port so that won't work. I was able to get this done. It's a bit tricky, but it's something I will do again. I think it is pretty straight forward.
How do I connect to a proxy Wi-Fi?
If you are located in a country that blocks access to many sites, including eBay, Skype and other VoIP applications, as well as some online gaming websites, you can use a proxy server. This is a way of getting around the blocking. It works by routing your Internet traffic through a server that is based outside your own country.
To begin, open the eBay browser and click on the eBay icon. A menu box will appear on the right side of the browser. Click on the Settings icon in this box and then select Preferences.
Click on the Network tab. Enter the URL of your favorite proxy server in the field labeled Proxy Server. For example: You will need to replace http:// with https://. Click the Save Preferences button to save the settings. Using the Proxy server, you can access any site or service by entering the address of the proxy server in the browser. For example, when accessing eBay through a proxy server, enter When you go to the eBay home page, eBay should load.
Your eBay account will work through the proxy server, and you will be able to make purchases on eBay as usual. However, eBay will still block other applications, including Skype and other VoIP programs.
Note: You may be asked to sign in with your username and password at the proxy server. To do this, copy the address of the proxy server () and paste it into the eBay login form. This is the URL address used in the field labeled Proxy Server.
Do I need a Proxy server? A proxy server is an add-on to the regular eBay web browser. As long as you can access eBay with your regular web browser, you do not need to use a proxy server.
What about eBay's security? EBay's security is first-rate. In fact, eBay is very secure. There are no known security flaws in the eBay software.
EBay protects your personal information in a number of ways. For example, eBay is protected by a 128-bit SSL encryption, a standard used to protect data when transferred over the Internet.
How do I find my proxy username and password?
Your proxy username and password is unique to your account. We won't ask for the same thing twice. Once you have logged in to your new account, the username and password you use should match the one you provided when you created your new account.
Do I have to go through this every time I sign in? Yes, there will be a pop up box every time you log in that asks for your user name and password. You can log in automatically by creating an Automatic Login profile in your account settings. However, if you do decide to login automatically each time, remember to change your automatic login time each day if necessary. This way, you do not need to remember your password. If you forget your password or do not have a new copy of the software handy, follow these steps below to create a new user.
You can manually type in your username and password. You can sign into your account with your email address if you want to keep your password. You can create a new user to take over for yourself and add a new computer to it. In this case, you can change the automatic login option to Yes if you want your current username and password to remain your user name and password. If you leave your old profile intact and don't use that account very much, you can leave your password blank. If you choose the default, it will sign you in without asking you for your username and password.
Remember to clear your browsing session once you have completed setting up your new account so you will start using your new user right away when you next visit the website. Note:You may need to check your email address before you can go to your account to make the changes. When you login, the account settings page will load immediately after you type in your email address.
