Can I let my 7 year old play Roblox?

I recently had a debate with my mom about letting my 7 year old play Roblox.

When we are in public or with friends she always complains that he doesn't stop playing it and I know it is because she is always worried about him getting addicted to the game. At home, when I get home from work, the only time he gets to play is when he gets out of his room and plays for about an hour, then goes back to his room to do his homework, eat dinner, play games and go to bed. I have no issues with him playing but I can't get her to trust me and let him play Roblox when I am there. Any advice on letting him play Roblox while I am there?

My advice to you would be to play some games yourself before allowing your child to use Roblox. If you and your daughter can enjoy some type of video game, then that is fine. Your daughter could even invite you into her "world" and you could play with her. That way, you could determine whether or not Roblox is something she should be allowed to use.

"Roblox" sounds like a really cool game, but I'm not sure I want my seven-year-old to be playing it. I don't think he's mature enough to know what he's doing and if he's going to end up ruining my favorite "game" software.

Is there anything inappropriate that he could see? This is the first time I see this happen and it is very concerning.

My child plays on the games section and he wants to play and has friends over and its not a mature game area. I don't use it myself, but I do know that there are a few very inappropriate games for children out there in the Roblox community. If you want to help protect your kid, please only let them play in the Gaming section.

There are no inappropriate games on Roblox. We take the safety of our community and the well being of our users extremely seriously and we want to give everyone a safe and happy experience. I would highly suggest you talk to him about why he is playing the game, and that is most likely the reason as to why he may have accessed your account. Have him log in again without an ID to make sure that it is his account, then log into his profile to see what he is playing. Just make sure he is not viewing anything inappropriate. Hey - this is not at all correct, We know people can gain access to your account and it can be a little difficult to sort out. What we advise is for you to create a user id under your kid, and if he tries to create another account under this one, the system will tell you which account it came from, you can then use the 'Forgot ID' option in his profile to remove the current one, as this will stop him accessing it again.

This does not mean that you're allowing an inappropriate game on your account, or that you can't be trusted with an account on your own. In fact this could easily be considered a good thing as kids learn better when getting support from their parents, and they would have less support on a social network if they had a bad experience playing a game and had to post it, as it would get to many eyes very quickly, so with this method, the person who posts about the issue gets a much more targeted response from the community, they only see it, and their kid won't have anything posted about them that can be seen by others.

Roblox is a great tool, one that needs a ton of love. We do everything in our power to ensure that it stays that way.
