So I am going to be honest with you and say I haven't played Roblox for ages.

I still use it as an avatar in Minecraft but that's about it. There are no longer new updates in the game for the Android version. It feels like a really expensive video game that should have been out of stock. I bought one on Black Friday and my 10 year old son and I played it. He loves it, and at first, so did I. It was so much fun. We played through one level and got very high scores and he said it was pretty good. I thought Wow, this is actually kinda fun, but then he asked me if he could continue and I felt a bit awkward. So, I stopped him. This game really can be so addicting. I think my son will love it when he is older.

The premise is simple, you build houses, vehicles, items, whatever. Then you can invite your friends over and they can join you on a virtual world where you build all sorts of things. What really surprised me about the game was the ability to change theme of the game, which I never knew was possible. There are lots of different themes to choose from such as animals, cars, trucks, and boats. This was a first for me. I had always thought you would only be able to change the setting of the actual game. It is like Minecraft's Play/Create mode. It's very similar, but different.

Why do I like the game? Because it is the best social media of its kind and I really enjoy interacting with my kid. It reminds me of those old days playing with my brother and his friends. I get nostalgic thinking about that because we had so much fun. I love the concept of the game and that my son loves it. I think it will be a nice activity to do together.

What does this mean for us? Let's say that we are having our Sunday dinner. My kid is watching TV. I take a look at his phone and I see he is playing Roblox. That is when it hits me.

To add a little info, I don't think it's fair to assume that Roblox is only for kids. I have a friend who plays, and he's in his 30's. He plays with all ages, although his younger brother does seem to enjoy it more. For example, he has a friend who plays. He's the same age as my friend, but he's an adult, but still plays Roblox with my friend.
