What Roblox extension got hacked?

On the morning of February 19th, 2023, Roblox extension called Bulk Load (also known as BULKLOADER) got hacked. The exploit allows downloading all of the information associated with your real-life accounts (name, email, phone number, birthdate, etc.) and then uploading it to a free Roblox account. Unfortunately, the exploit was used by at least one other individual, who may have already uploaded the data to the platform.

What happened to the developer? The team behind the Bulk Load (BULKLOADER) got hacked too! It is not clear if that is related to the issue being described in this post, or if the developers of the tool got hacked independently. The developer of the said Roblox extension has issued an apology on Reddit.

What happened to the users? Users of the hack extension can access your real-life accounts, so your personal information and sensitive data are in danger of being stolen. Additionally, it is not clear if any malicious activities are being performed. However, any activity conducted on your Roblox accounts would be tracked by real-life ID which may be linked to your personal information.

How did the hack get patched? As of yet, there is no definitive answer as to what measures were taken to prevent a similar situation from occurring again. However, it appears that the hack extension was shut down and a warning was issued to users on February 21st, 2023. You may want to keep a close eye on your Roblox accounts in the upcoming weeks.

Whether you're a new player or an old pro, chances are that one or more of these extensions may have been useful to you in the past. They're also useful for people who just want to spice up their browsing experience.

Why use Roblox Chrome extensions? First of all, I should point out that when I use the word "extension" here, I'm talking about apps that you install as extensions to Chrome. This means that they don't add anything to your browser by default; rather, they open up new tabs within Chrome where you can perform actions that you might otherwise have to perform on your desktop.

For example, if you wanted to chat with friends online, this would be much easier with a Chrome extension. When I use the term "Chrome extension," I'm referring to extensions that do add functionality to Chrome or to another app that you use. For example, if you use a productivity tool like Microsoft Word, then installing a Chrome extension to make things like spell checking and other functions easier to perform in-browser is what I mean.

As far as the types of extensions go, you'll notice that a few of them have a slightly older name (eg, Chatzilla, which is now called Chatroulette). That's because some extensions have changed over the years, but the functionality hasn't necessarily been changed. The only exception to this is Roblox Extensions, which are now called Roblox Chrome extensions.
